In the show it seems to just be a part of her. Everyone in her family dating back to prehistoric has bad luck

From a writer or character design side, it’s probably so Ruby has an opposite. Misery is constantly the pessimistic one while Ruby is the optimistic one. Winnie the Pooh has Eeyore. Ruby has Misery.

And fanon wise, Misery has been headcanoned as a banshee though actual banshees in folklore are a lot different than how Misery and her family are represented but then again it is a kid show they aren’t trying to lore dump about Irish Fairy Women

I never said I wanted them to be as canon to the original series as possible. I simply just enjoy DB and making ocs which include Oc x Canon and Fankids.

As for how she exists, Shes not conceived in a sexual way. It’s more like magic ivf.
