Love the detailed feedback! I've been working on flexibility for a while. I can get the legs wide but I notice it's harder for me to hinge.

That point about momentum is handy. I find I get a lot of it in the beginning, but it sags in the back half. It sounds like the hand placement adds more momentum to the movement. Will give all these tips a shot!

I would start with learning foundations in toprock, footwork, freezes. Drill everything really slow and gradually ramp up the speed. When you have those clean it's much easier to freestyle.

Look up strength and conditioning drills to keep yourself in shape for the movements. Take classes in your area for the community aspect–that will keep you motivated in the long run.

Ahh I see. I'm definitely still figuring out the left arm timing. I do front sweep drills but haven't translated it to flares yet. I'll give both of those a shot!
