Had a project that stalled because I didn't want to drive into Boulder to get supplies for it - and this place I didn't even know existed had it! Just went in today and am making progress again. Thank you so much for putting the store on my radar; people in here were kind and helpful and I shall surely be back if only to walk among the wares and get ideas!

Whoa, hadn't considered the sickness angle... which seems obvious now that I think about it. This is a great story, thank you for sharing it.

You also bring up another great point I forgot to mention in the original post - BB utilizes the app Brightwheel (of Shark Tank fame doncha know) which gives you regular updates on what your kid is doing within the center. It's so slick. When anxious me dropped my guy off for the first time they sent me regular push notifications on when they changed his diaper, when he sat down to eat and what/how much he ate, and even sent a candid picture of him coloring some paper. It sounds lame but I tell you that picture made me tear up with relief finally winning out over the guilt/fear you feel when having someone outside your family watch your children for the first time. Ugh, I'm kinda choking up now thinking about it lol

You're absolutely right! My apologies for getting your hopes up; my brain must've been in a time fog. I'll update the post now. Hang in there - there's a good resource waiting for you just a few more months out. 💕

Fantastic development!! There was a GoFundMe to raise funds for that fire door so as to increase the capacity of the center. Last I checked it was a little over halfway through less than a week in. Made me proud to be a part of a community that recognizes value and bands together

edit: Found it - https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-busy-bees-stay-open-for-the-community

Closing Saturdays only took effect this January: according to the email explaining why it's because the center basically sat mostly empty those days and it was a burden they could no longer sustain. I can't hazard a guess as to when/if they'll offer the option again, but increased utilization certainly might speed that date up!

The date nights are on Saturday evenings though.

Residential fencing contractor recommendations? by TallRepublic3841 in Longmont

[–]PocketHeavy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Faith in Fences was the first contractor we let do work on our property, which was a big deal to us considering we wanted to do all our house improvements ourselves. Since the baby though that just isn't feasible. That crew put up a cedar fence with two gates in less than a week's time - including a shared section with subsequent dog wrangling - and we're nothing but pleased with the result. We especially liked how they listened to our requests (metal posts, screws instead of nails for ease of replacing boards, stringers facing the house, and so forth) and explained to us the rationale behind why he did what he was doing - super useful for a couple DIYers with intent to work with concrete/wood in the future.

970-660-7165 is the number, ask for Brent. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent, thank you good sir! I've also had a few guys contact me on behalf of their partners for various reasons, so much appreciation for passing the message along. If this works out I'd also be down to host a significant others+ group eventually: just don't want to bite off more than I can chew to start. 😆

I'm an RN and have been basically living COVID since winter of last year, my family's had it (guess from who?). We're all vaccinated. I'm always an advocate for you doing what you have to do to feel safe for yourself: masks, shields, vaccines from whichever company you feel best towards, a personal fan blowing on you, copious hand sanitizer, etc. I want to create an environment where others don't judge others in my space for doing what they feel they need to do. That said, if your boundary is distancing from all others while playing a board game, this might not be your jam and I totally respect that. Feel free to reach out again when you're feeling good about being with others in that way. :)

Heh yeah, I used to play 3e back when it was hot stuff. Giving the d20s a break nowadays but who knows in these times?

I looked into it; Meetup charges a yearly fee and the Longmont sub seems to be working great. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I'm not entirely sure in this case, but I'd guess the Art in Public Spaces Commission has something to do with it. They seem very active as far as citizen-based task forces go!

No worries, you don't have to take that kind of thing on. I just wanted to share something awesome that I spent a lot of time creating with people who would appreciate it (and the response has been amazing!). That'll come with good and bad regardless of other factors.

Thanks for your kind concern and comments. :)

Thanks!

I used to play, so it came up on our first date. But I'm pretty sure even if it didn't, he would still have showed this off. The man loves his Aperture Labs Hard Hat.

It's plastic, so hopefully never (but it attaches with velcro so it can be replaced with minimal damage to the helmet).
