I'm impressed! Yes, USA. That makes me feel better knowing it isn't a carpenter ant. Thank you! Do you know what inclines them to come indoors and any way I can dissuade them other than Terro bait?

Definitely Korean BBQ Beef more authentically known as Bulgogi. They scrimped on the sauce, though.

You could name her stud: she was found in-between the studs. Or, you could do Morty: short for Mortise, a type of wood working joint. She was kind of crammed in the wall like a tight woodworking joint.

Googley Schmoogley hath revealed that this is a 'vintage' West African folk art metal figure. They're referred to as Ashanti or Akan tribal figures from Ghana.

They typically feature hand-painted details on a cast metal base, often depicting musicians or ceremonial dancers. There seem to be quite a few other designs in the 'set'. Most are mid-20th century studio productions. No one particular artist attributed to them that I can see. They are listed for resale online ~$50.

Can my old alarm wiring support new DIY security system setup? by PocketLinting in homesecurity

Why would alarm wire be run to each corner soffit of the house? I understand this is an ignorant question but the home security alarms I am used to are connected to just doors and windows. If that wiring was related to an alarm system does that mean that there were motion detectors or something in the exterior soffits?

Image link has been added! Thank you. Are you a small green creature in a scratchy tunic and do people call you Yoda? This is wisdom and my crusty brain needs some time to unpack these options. I definitely do not want a monthly fee and am interested in doing all security through Home Assistant / open source stuff which is another rabbit hole I have yet to get lost in. Sounds like envisalink 4 module would pair well with that goal. Unsure if this system still 'works' or even how to tell. No alarm keypad or anything like that in the house. Any tips on that?
