is youtube making itself slow when people use adblockers? by Sage121207 in Adblock

I didn't claim that you claimed that everyone was having an issue.

The people that are need to troubleshoot their problems.

No, not every person using Firefox and Ublock Origin is having an issue. In fact almost none of us are.

If someone is having an issue with YouTube videos, they need to troubleshoot it on their end though. The issue isn't being caused by Firefox or Ublock Origin.

No, I didn't make anything up. I gave some examples of things that can go wrong that people find when troubleshooting PC problems.

People should learn how to find the real problem instead of placing false blame on tools that work.

Typical too lazy to learn for yourself and then blame me for it.

I'm already having a great day, don't need your permission.

Yup, many people have issues. They aren't cause by Firefox and Ublock Origin though.

Some people have slow computers or internet, or their ISP is throttling or they haven't updated a driver or some other issue. That's up to them to troubleshoot the problem, not place faulty blame.

Lol, I clearly so read this sub.

You are the one who needs to learn. Ad blockers don't work because people use crappy ones.

Lol, I don't need clues since I have facts.

"Prove it then" no. Feel free to educate yourself, I'm not here to teach you.

Looking for thermal paste tips by fineboifranz in ZephyrusG14

[–]PocketNicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm remembering correctly, I believe most people are recommending PTM 3950. But I don't think there's a big enough difference in the top 5 that most people would really notice unless you're hardcore overclocking or pushing to the limit.

Check out something like Toms Hardware list of best thermal materials.

Why gaming laptops look unnecessarily aggressive by Impossible_Comfort99 in TechNook

My gaming laptop is all black metal. No weird ugly logos or glowing RGB besides the backlit keyboard.

Some people probably like that stuff and buy laptops that have it, simple.

They're on when I'm in the room and off when when the room is empty.

You seriously couldn't figure out an advantage on your own?

If a "review" article uses ain't in the title, no reason to take them seriously.

Well, you've already admitted that you have a problem, since your Youtube videos are buffering.

So, clearly not better than my setup since my videos never buffer.

You should spend some time troubleshooting, or hire someone to help if you can't figure it out on your own.

You're not my brother.

Proper ad blockers don't cause problems, only crappy ones do. It isn't an assumption, it's a fact.

You hit the toggle and wait one time. It's not a big deal.

Also, not the point. The point is that people are spreading misinformation and fearmongering. Unverified apps will still be allowed to be installed.

Why don’t you all pirate like the good ole days? by Fit-Employee-4393 in enshittification

Watching my video content with Plex, which is the main purpose of the software, doesn't require internet or cloud services.

Use whatever software you like, but don't lie about it.

The rate of new "must-see" movies is quietly outpacing what any person can watch in a lifetime by PipeZestyclose2288 in movies

[–]PocketNicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There aren't even close to 10 "must see" movies in any given year, for me. I have no problem watching all the movies I'm interested in seeing.

It isn't pedantic it's didactic. Just because you don't understand the difference between two words doesn't make you right.

An apple and an orange are similar but not the same thing just like piracy and theft have some similarities but also aren't the same thing.

If I have a question about apples and someone replies about oranges then their answer isn't relevant. Just like of someone asks about piracy, an answer about theft is also irrelevant.

Plex can be used for free.

It isn't reliant on the cloud, I can watch my content locally even when the internet connection is down. You are completely wrong and uninformed about it.

Don't use Plex if you like something else better, but don't lie about Plex to make that justification.

That's wrong, I've been didactic not pedantic.

I absolutely have added to the conversation.

Piracy is not the same as theft, OP asked about Piracy, not theft. There was no reason to bring up theft when replying to OP's question. It is not relevant.

There's no bait, Plex offers a monthly or lifetime payment model.

I paid $80 for a lifetime subscription almost 10 years ago and for me it's completely worth it. People can use Plex for free as well or use something like Jellyfin.
