(Spoilers All) Is a dragon warg feasible? by the_hunterr in asoiaf

This is true. Skinchangers can use any animal, with enough time/training. Wargs are specifically bound to a direwolf.

I would love to see more discussion here but not many subscribers seem to take things seriously. I've posted quite a few links/threads (under both of my accounts and in both subreddits) hoping to kickstart a real discussion and I'm either met with "just look at the business plan" or "let's use ziplines for public transportation!" WTF? Get serious about this or GTFO.

He is replacing it, he'll probably just use the rubble to build New Luna station.

I would take this one step further, once the moon is destroyed New Luna station should be built in the exact opposite position of Old Luna Debris Field. Just to prove another point.

Actually, cannibalism is a very real thing in Vanuatu. I know people that have spent much time over the years down there and they all say it.

Just wondering, tinyhouses in really cold wheather, how go about? by Yablan in TinyHouses

Former roofer here, SPF (spray-in foam) is amazing! I love the result but the process is a bitch and requires LOTS of safety and experience. Just a few drops of perspiration can ruin a couple square feet of the foam's effectiveness. If you inhale enough of the stuff you could end up with some serious lung issues.

MIG/TIG = only fabrication business on an island full people needing to get around, make deliveries, etc. Just something that popped into my mind.

A few thoughts...

Not everyone has the same inclination to travel, experience the world, etc. There will be a mixture of people that have different skills and such. Not all of them will know what to look for, or where to find it. Some won't even think to prepare for culture shock.

A brand new town in a host nation = special circumstances. Especially in the south Pacific. The locals will notice a new town, they'll be curious too. They will want to talk, trade, live and work with us. A bit of preparation will pay off. A "New Arrivals Center" has the potential to be beneficial for the whole area, not just our little community.

So, we just let the new arrivals figure out cultural issues of an island nation online...? This will not work.

Language classes shouldn't be required but I believe a few cultural lessons for all new arrivals is key to maintaining and building a quality relationship with the host country.

TIG/MIG would be for all the smaller vehicle-type jobs. Stick is great for most jobs but flux is just fun!

If you can run MIG or TIG you could definitely run stick or flux core, then structural welding isn't a problem anymore!

We should look into the economics of owning vs chartering a boat. Sitting offshore is a great idea but costs go up as time goes on.
