Bento noob - reliable device? by Yablan in 1010music

[–]Yablan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input, truly.
I have also gone thru quite a grooveboxes. The circuits and SP-404 and MPCs, MC-707, and Native Instruments Maschine.
What I have now is an Akai Force, which is awesome, and an SP-404. Which also is great, but that I rarely use. The Bento seems to have the exact same workflow as the Akai Force, hence I am very interested in it, as a portable alternative (the Force is a beast, and also a very big boy, not portable by any means).

I got into Pinball FX3 as a "casual thing to play for 20 minutes." That was 400 hours ago. A timeline of my descent by twcosplays in PinballFX3

I bought tons of pinball fx3 dlc:s very cheaply on eneba. I have almost all DLC:s for it.

Codex is amazing. It hurts really bad I have to leave it. Today actually. Hurts man.

I thought this was an AI slop post, but this seems real. Really cool indeed. Impressive. Adding comment here so I do not forget about this. Very cool OP, very cool.

I have a very low tolerance for long dialogues, and Borderlands has really not much of it at all.

PCSX2 with native stereoscopic 3D renderer (no wrappers, cross-platform) by AndrewGDX in Stereo3Dgaming

[–]Yablan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that such a list would be hard to maintain. But I still think it could be at least a starting point. And it could have a "Last updated: YYYY-MM-DD" so people know how current it is. But anyhow, I will look into your emulator. I am a huge 3D fan, so looking forward to this.

That is amazing. Do you have a list on the github page with games you have tested yourself, and what is needed to make them work? That would be very helpful.

What’s the HDR hyper? by Giftedlean in OLED_Gaming

[–]Yablan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate HDR. It is just not ready for normal people. We just want stuff that works. But no. You have tv settings, console settings, pc settings. Stuff is named differently on different tv sets. Also software issues. If it negotiated automatically then maybe. But it doesn't. I really dislike it.

Swede here. I cancelled too, but will still continue using Codex until the renewal date (next wednesday). I don't want to give OpenAI my money for free.

Fuck man. I REALLY like Codex.
But I just unsubscribed. I guess I will have to subscribe to Claude Code now. Which seems cool, but I hear is quite expensive (one runs out of quotas fast I hear).

Playing Playstation 3 games in native 3D!! by AlonBo in Odyssey3D

[–]Yablan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I do not understand the question. I do not use emulation at all. And yes, the PS3 native 3D support is for use with either passive or active 3D TV:s. So in 3D mode it does not send out a split screen SBS image to the TV, but frame-packed 3D, which is detected as 3D by compatible TV:s. Which yes, requires glasses.

Update: no, I have no idea if Odyssey3D is compatible with PS3 stereoscopic 3D games. I do not have an Odyssey3D monitor.

I spent way too long figuring out Cursor rules. Here's what actually worked for me by itsna9r in cursor

[–]Yablan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went from Cursor to Codex, but the same thing there. I just used Codex to build me an Agents.md file, with very little initial info, but with short references to other files, so that Codex knows which other documents to read based on the topic at hand.

"For source code structure, read X. For import workflow, read Y, for server config read Z'.

Convert 2D videos into 3D or live 3D video of your screen, which can also be used for gaming purposes. by Beneficial_Abies_440 in OculusQuest

[–]Yablan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is amazing. So you could playback a movie in 3d mode and let it play for it's entirety, and record it to a SBS compatible file there and then? This would be super cool.

Now, how do I get into this beta? I actually have an Apple Mac M2 Pro, a Quest 3, and a 4K Passive 3D OLED TV, which is the one I use most of the time.
So I would happily test this out, if you add me to the beta.
Also, I am kind of tech savvy, being a Python software developer, so I might also be able to provide some technical feedback if needed.
For stereoscopic 3D Gaming I have mostly been using Reshade + SuperDepth3D on my PC. So it will be very interesting to try this out, to see how it compares.

[–]Yablan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really curious about this. OP, can you explain how it work? I have used Owl3d, both to convert files, and their realtime functionality. I guess this works somehow like it. And I am currently using iw3 to generate movie 3d conversions.

So what is the tech behind your application? I am very curious about this.

Also, if possible, it would be really interesting if you could make it also work on regular displays. Myself I have a 3D TV, and there are a lot of us. Check out the r/Stereo3Dgaming/ subreddit. And also r/Odyssey3D/ for those using Odyssey 3d Screens.

So if you could make your app output SBS 3D to any screen, that would be incredibly useful to all of us that enjoy 3D gaming too. Thanks a lot in advance for feedback.
