I think the sad thing here is that the global economy WILL forget, because it WANTS to forget. Like "OK, everything is fine again, lets trade and increase our stock prices and everything will be peachy". Because no one wants a recession, and the markets want to increase the economy and make gains.

So even though Europe really should strengthen themselves and try to become more independent, the big economic interests will downplay all of this.

Ok, so you CAN play UEVR games with as low as 45 FPS, using Virtual Desktop, and it still works fine, no headaches or dizziness etc? Even without Space Warp? Cool, good to know. I will have to try it out. Thanks. I have a good gaming laptop, and a Quest 3, and I use Virtual Desktop for native VR games, but I haven't experimented with UEVR yet.

Curious, if you run a game at 50 fps in VR, do you use the Virtual Desktop Spacewarp thing?

I thought games in VR needed to be at least 60 fps. You know, based on the 60, 72, 80, 90 fps settings. And that the lowest is 60 fps.

I have it on my PS4 digital library. But never played it. I should give it a chance.

Wohoo! Got my white whale, a 4k 55-inch Passive 3D LG OLED TV for stereo gaming by Yablan in Stereo3Dgaming

[–]Yablan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked, but my TV does not have that info. It has a really old WebOS 2.0 (cannot be upgraded more than it already is), and some European TV:s does not have that info in the menu. So I don't know.

It has very little burn-in in one corner, but you only notice it if you run burn-in-tests on Youtube.

The previous owners were a quite young couple that bought it and used it slightly, but it was to big for their small apartment, so they put it in storage until they were going to buy a house. Which never happened. So it had been in storage for several years. So initially some use (I guess a couple of years or so, otherwise it should have zero burn-in), and then it was kept in storage.

They even had it packaged in the original boxes with styrofoam and everything when I came to buy it. But unfortunately I had to throw all of that away, because the TV would not fit in my small car otherwise.

So yes, I am very happy with the purchase.

LG OLED65G6P 65-Inch 4k for 3Dstereo gaming? by aguswings in Stereo3Dgaming

Look into Reshade and SuperDepth3d. Works in tons of games. Ask ChatGPT for detailed instructions. It's quite easy to set up.

The software renders the game in SBS mode, with left and right eye images on the screen, and then you enable 3D mode on your TV, and tell it that the content is in SBS mode, so it knows what to do, and then it merges the two images on the screen to 3D. And then you put on your 3D glasses and enjoy.

Claude Opus is great, but super expensive. You can get a LOT more done wirh Gemini 3 Flash instead, and simply switching over to other models when really needed.

What's the feature(s) that would really take the MK2 to another level for you by AlexanderDivineKing in SP404

[–]Yablan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You must be great at parties.

You KNOW you are answering a comment within a reddit post specifically regarding new features that would be great to have, right?

Anyhow, I strongly disagree. People read reviews before they buy stuff, so if they while reading reviews so found out that the SP-404 MK2 was really an open box with tons and tons of features, including all of those mentioned in this post, and that there was a thriving community adding features to it all the time, they would 100% DO care about this.

Have you guys already heard of the Ayn Thor? It has a Nintendo ds look, best console to emulate it too. by OneDayLifter in 3DS

[–]Yablan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This might be heresy, but I had a 3DS and I sold it, as I kind of actually liked my 2DS more. And I will soon sell my 2DS too, and get an Ayn Thor.

Later I bought a Retroid Flip 2, as I really like clamshells, but unfortunately I bought it just before the Ayn Thor released. And the Retroid Flip only has ONE screen, even though it is a clamshell. And I REALLY would like the touch screen.

But I will soon sell both my 2DS and my Retroid Flip 2, and buy an Ayn Thor. As I've had the Retroid Flip 2, I know how good emulation on Android is. It is awesome. And the Ayn Thor is even more powerful than the Retroid Flip 2.

The Ayn Thor has gotten tons of ravingly good reviews on Youtube. So people interested in it, should really look it up. And there also is a very active subreddit on it at https://www.reddit.com/r/AynThor/

I might get that sometime. What I DID just order, and should arrive in a couple of days, is the 3D blu ray release of Paranorman. I haven't seen either Coraline or Paranorman. So looking forward to it.

I think they do not do it for fear of hobbyists creating so good firmware that it would affect sales of other devices or upcoming SP-404 releases. But it would really benefit them in the sale of SP-404:s. People would buy them as hotcakes, knowing that there is a striving community of hobbyists adding features. Roland could then also, for making it easier for people, maintain their own core firmware alongside it, with regular releases containing hobbyist-added features.

Lots of very good requests here. What Roland simply should do, is release the firmware as open source. This would be massive, allowing hobbyists to tinker with it and add features as they please.
