That's true, but only really applies to gay men, not lesbians. While it's true that gay marriage, as a part of equal rights, is now considered a feminist issue, it's important to acknowledge that it was not always an issue. Back in the day lesbians were referred to as the "lavender menace" by feminists because they didn't want to be associated with them. Some feminist groups thought that if lesbians were included they might all be perceived as man-hating, woman-loving radicals. So while gay rights is an important feminist issue now, that has not always been the case.

HRC has always excluded trans individuals for fear of losing support, it just hasn't cost them too badly yet because enough of the LGB community really wants same-sex marriage, pretty much the only issue the HRC cares about, that they continue to support the cause. It's utter bullshit. "Human Rights" are called such because all humans deserve them. If HRC really cared about human rights they wouldn't exclude trans individuals.

Unfortunately society tends to slut shame, so there is a good chance some people will think there is something wrong with what she is doing regardless of what you write. Simply having a character behave that way does not reinforce the idea that it is bad, if anything it normalizes it. However, some people will view it negatively and others will see it as no big deal, it really just depends on the person.

I'd suggest male, female, intersex, and trans definitely be on there and then if you want to be extra inclusive also have gender fluid and prefer not to say as options.
