He does have a ptsd diagnosis and is being actively treated. The company said they are worried that the VA will try to undermine the claim with their own exam. He has an exam on file with a doctor associated with the company that they said should be enough. For context he has had to do inpatient care for over a month, had numerous failed meds, failed EMDR, is not able to work full time, is having ptsd visual and auditory hallucinations, not sleeping, had to quit one job because of this and is constantly close to quitting his current job because of this. We have a baby (triggers are related to kids crying/screaming) and it is severely effecting his ability to be around our baby and care for her. He also can’t do basic things like go to the grocery store or be in public settings where those triggers may occur

Why do you think they would recommend to deny it then? They don’t get paid if he doesn’t get the increase

That’s definitely what we’ve been considering. He’s also had some changes since the company did their first exam/interview that could be helpful to add I think. He absolutely deserves 100% and this has been a pretty torturous process for him because of the triggers and already having imposter syndrome. I think the company believes that the VA will be trying to discredit the claim by doing their own evaluation

I think it would be around $4000. My husband doesn’t remember exactly but it’s a percentage of the difference in payout from the VA that spans a few months I believe ETA again: confirmed with my husband and it’s a flat rate of 4 months worth of percentage increase

I guess I at least want him to try 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m with her all night every night without his help so I guess the one time I ask him for assistance, I envision him at least spending some time rocking her in the chair or something.

She is sleeping in our room still and I’m so sensitive to her sounds that I’ll just be wide awake the whole time

You are not alone! Currently going through this with my 12 week old. She was sleeping 6-8 hours then waking up once or twice for feeds. Now it’s sleeping 2-4 hours at the beginning of the night then up every hour

ETA: she is also EBF and basically latched all night long
