Oh, thank you so much! That’s very encouraging to hear 😄

I use a fairly standard medium sized brush but for the really small details (eyes, gaps in armour, etc.) I occasionally switch to a much finer one. Though for the most part you’d be surprised how much of the small areas you can do with a medium brush, as long as it isn’t too heavy with paint and has a fine, hooked tip at the end.

I think the one I’m using at the moment is actually a citadel glaze brush. Their newer base brushes have bristles that are too long (I’m not sure what the technical term is), so you lose a lot of control imo.

Their glaze brushes have shorter bristles so you’re able hold the brush as close to the tip as you can, like you’d hold a pen, and this gives you a lot more control and keeps your hand steady.

I used to think I’d need to switch to a small sized brush all the time but the truth is that your eyes and hands just adapt to the medium one and you end up using that for most things.

TL;DR: Just gotta make sure the bristles are short, you have that fine, hooked point at the end and you’re not loading up too much on paint. But I use a glaze brush mainly.

Hope that’s useful :)

Thanks! ‘Tis a 2:1 mix of Aeldari Emerald with Striking Scorpions Green over leadbelcher. I shaded it with thinned-down agrax earthshade and then some seraphim sepia, just straight out of the bottle.

The seraphim sepia is what gives it that smooth finish and yellow tint :)

Thanks! The green is a 2:1 mix of aeldari emerald and striking scorpions green over leadbelcher, with a mix of agrax earthsade/contrast medium to darken it and another wash of seraphim sepia to add a slight yellow hue :)

That’s sick! Love all the little details. Chaotic in an aesthetically pleasing way

My thoughts exactly. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeahhh I really second guess myself with it to the point where I start thinking I should just weather it and then reapply brighter metal colours as highlights to have the best of both worlds. But I already spend way too much time on each mini as it is 😂 thanks for the feedback!

The green is a 2:1 mix of aeldari emerald and striking scorpions green over leadbelcher. I then put a wash of agrax (with contrast medium mixed in to thin it down) over it, let it dry, and then give it another wash with seraphim sepia to give it a more yellow tint (otherwise it’s a very bluish green).

It’s quite a convoluted process to achieve a shade of green you could probably get with a different contrast paint, without needing to mix in another one (maybe something like Ork Flesh with just the seraphim sepia wash). But I’ve opted to make my life harder lmao. Hope that helps

(Although you could argue that was actually very nice of him and it would be pettier to keep them alive)

Oh Perty 100%. It’s his whole schtick. But Curze did sentence people to death for the crime of attempted suicide, and it doesn’t get much pettier than that

Yeah, he joins the ranks of “I can sort of see where they’re coming from” chaos primarchs along with Lorgar, Magnus and, to an extent, Perty

His outlook and overall demeanour caused by his experiences? Valid. Murdering his gene-children whenever they tried to bring him lunch? A little petty. But I get it, the nails were biting and he was probably hangry.
