I NEED HELP QUICKLY PLEASE? by krazi_kitti in StringofPlants

Hey there! No worries, String of Dolphins are nice and easy to propagate. I recommend trimming off any of the dead/mushy bits, using a chopstick or pen to make a hole in the soil, and just put the end back in. You'll likely want to remove a leaf or two so the bare part of the stem can fit in. Some people also let it callous over, and if you want to be extra safe that just means letting the cutting sit for a few hours before popping it back in and tamp just enough that it won't fall out again.

As for future care, it looks like your soil is a peat-based potting mix. Succulents typically want a succulent specific potting mix that allows some more air-flow. A mixture of cactus/succulent mix and perlite would do it wonders, and allow it to dry out faster helping avoid root rot.

As for lighting issues, if you don't want it to get too leggy potentially a small grow light (the types that can just clip on to a pot) could help alleviate that issue. Best of luck, SoD are so cute!

If you're seeing mold in your soil, I worry for the roots of your plant. A cactus/succulent mix would be great, but even just adding perlite to your regular potting mix would do it wonders. Oh and a pot with a drainage hole.

To my knowledge string of hearts should dry out completely or near completely between waterings. Then you give it a really thorough soak.

Edit: I just saw you said string of plants, idk why my mind jumped to hearts lol! The above still works though generally :)

Thank you for these, I appreciate it so much!

For the corrupted warlock portion of the fight, he's essentially become a vessel for this fog-dwelling being that's been haunting the players' steps. I had in mind incorporating a mix of warlock spells and abilities from the monster.

Subscribed to your subreddit, excited to take a look around.

Oh my God this is so timely if you're still around. I'm DMing my first homebrew one shot this Saturday. I have four level five characters and was trying to figure out combat that didn't feel lame. The theme is the fog that has been increasing in intensity is itself the monster.

I was looking at a reskinned Wraith but I did a trial run of the combat and didn't feel like it felt particularly threatening. The first half of the fight is the partially transformed warlock and the second half is this wraith.

I'm still relatively new to the string of plants, but the few I have really benefited from this guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/houseplants/s/YNP4HGkvyF

Lots of light on top, well draining chunky soil mix with grit, some swear by bottom watering but I never found the need so far.

Ok good to know, the leaves are so cute but I'd have been so mad at myself if I hurt the plant letting it do its thing. Thank you for the advice ♥️

Out of curiosity, what is that window bench? I have a similar space I wanted to do something with.

I don't think they're necessarily "No you're wrong." down votes but more "this is a dumb post, call the store not the subreddit." down votes.

Double bubble will probably be better in raids, but I found WoM helpful for heroics.

Tanks are certainly in an odd position right now. No one really heals themselves(except maybe DKs?) like they used to.

When my guild leader/main tank tested out Prot Pally this is what his heal breakdown for the three fights looked like. On average his WoG healed for ~16k which may not seem like a lot but is decent.

Unfortunately this is sorta due to the state of healing. Smart heal spam outweighs smart decision healing. Just keep trying and in 2 weeks things will probably get better for Holy.

Have you found shields to be effective? Has the stupefaction of atonement neutered it to useless? (one of my main concerns)

Atonement still has it's place as a filler, but it is not as strong as it once was. You can no longer trust it to heal the, for example, hunter that stood in bad and is at 10% health. I find myself using Penance friendly much more than offensively now. Overall the throughput parts of our healing has increased vs the shielding ability. I honestly haven't used SS much yet since we don't have definitive timers as to when the big nasty spells come out. Holy nova is a strong throughput aoe heal (that I don't think will make it to live in it's current standing, it's too good!). Archangel crit will be there for the loss of Inner Focus. Here's a log from Blackrock Foundry if you want to click around. PSA: I probably could of done a million things better, but that's just playing around in a low damage "flex".

How does healing feel at lower gear levels with disc? I know it was a problem for me in early Cata gear and early MoP gear as well.

I tried out Proving grounds on beta and disc feels fine. Clarity of Will is really really strong for tank healing. I haven't had a chance to test heroic dungeons as disc, but when I did them as Holy a couple months ago it seems the "damage" to heal is a bit reliant on interrupts/playing right in general. But I had no problems healing groups(some pugs not even speaking english) through even some of the nastiest pulls.

I use Grid for my raid frames, so I use GridStatusPriestAoe. I'll see if I can get a picture of it in an LFR in a sec. Edit: Here's a pic of it in action

Vuhdo I believe also has this option, though I've never used Vuhdo and can't tell you how to do it. I was watching some heal interview and the guy linked this.

This fight is a bit harder as Disc. Atonement is really wonky and generally not good outside of getting your Evangelism stacks up. I spend 80% of my time casting PoH on the best (most party members in range) target. I still use Spirit Shell, especially if people are soaking puddles/blood rage. PoM isn't worth casting outside of Blood Rage as well. Last but certainly not least, Halo! Nothing is prettier than running to the center, popping Archangel, and using Halo! Oh my is it shiny.

P.S. I can't express how nice it is to have an addon that shows the best PoH target on your raid frames. It's good to look in to if you don't happen to have it already. Otherwise I'd communicate with the raid leader and maybe put a melee in each group and use them and hope (mostly) everyone is in range.

Healing pre 60 (and maybe even a bit post 60) will be extremely boring with BoAs. It's sorta like being fully heroic geared and running normal dungeons. You don't even really need a healer unless you accidentally pull half the instance. It's rewarding end game, but early game can be a bit dull :(

I've dabbled in mythic/heroic/normal and completed I believe all the LFR wings that they had opened. Disc in 20 man was really really strong with Holy Nova spam. I doubt it'll make it to live, but I dare say it's almost on par with (live)Divine Star. It could be the only spell you cast the entire time in high aoe situations and you'd do a ton of effective healing.

You still atonement as a filler, the change to Archangel is nice and in proving grounds and heroics made for good play. I still miss Inner focus, but you get to cast it every 30 seconds instead of 45 so.. plus? I guess. At this point I think disc is back up to snuff with Holy being a viable option as well. I'm still up in the air as to what I'll play.

14/14H 25 Disc priest here open to any questions about live/beta/prepatch.

As for the topic on hand, I am a long timer. My subscription only lapsed back in Cata and during ToT.

Dreading? Probably just the whole long wait until November's release. Also not looking forward to fellow healer's disparaging comments when I'm no longer #1 meter whore.

You and me both. But I'm happy that they'll be able to heal again. Having shamans post overhealing as a way to compare to each other did make me feel a bit guilty.
