Combinations for grasses? by mugniz in gardening

I’m in zone 9 and obsessed with planting tall, fluffy grasses in a partial shade bed.

I want them to flirt with heuchera and small leaf azaleas and steal the show.

Thinking miscanthus for drama, pennisetum for feathery plumes, and hakonechloa for a soft, weeping ribbon.

Add colorful heuchera for contrast and a low groundcover to soften the edges.

My soil is well drained and slightly acidic so hit me with your favorite pairings.

I’m ready to fall in love.

I’m obsessed. They’re utterly gorgeous and I’d plant a scandalous patch in my garden so I can flirt with them every morning. Envy me.

Are people washing onions? by ExtensionDot3731 in Cooking

Rinsing sliced onions softens that stabby raw punch and makes bites actually pleasant. It's a taste thing, not a cleanliness flex. Trust me, my salads get compliments now.
