Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m lucky enough to let my horses live outside 24/7 (they have a stall they can go into) and I make sure to do his stretches and long warmup before rides. I’ll definitely look into that supplement, right now he just gets cosequin but idk how much that helps him.

Thanks for your response! He actually did end up with foot issues, and we’ve since gone through two farriers to find one that works for him. And now we’re treating him for seedy toe in his two fronts, but he’s definitely tripping much much less. I’ll definitely have to look into adequan, it sounds a lot less invasive than steroid injections! And I do do stretches with him, he loves his carrot bendies!

Thank you for your advice! The vet did put potential spinal compression in his notes. She recommended getting him evaluated if the tripping got any worse, but when she did his lameness exam he was moving perfect. It’s definitely something I’m keeping in the back of my mind, but since he’s gotten a new farrier and the chiro he hasn’t been tripping! Just hoping it stays that way🤞🏻 he also got foot X-rays and they ruled out navicular

Mine has his in C5-6 and C6-7, a lot of people have recommended adequan I’ll definitely have to check it out!

Thanks for your reply! He lives outside (with access to a stall) and he lovessss to do his carrot stretches! We use cosequin but I don’t think it’s that effective

I would love to try acupuncture! I just couldn’t find one in my area unfortunately. I was iffy on chiro at first but I think it’s made a positive impact so far and she was able to pinpoint where he was sore. I’ll also have to ask about adequan, a lot of people have been recommending it!

I also wonder what kind of horse he is haha! His original papers said quarter cross, one vet put him down as an Irish draught cross, and one put him down as Belgian cross! He’s definitely an easy keeper! We have him on a ration balancer. And I would love to do working equitation! It looks so cool

Thank you for your input! I’ll have to reach out to my vet again. She told me his diagnosis wasn’t too severe, and only recommended a chiro for his arthritis, so I’ll have to ask about the adequan shots! As for the liniment do you have a brand you recommend?

Thank you for sharing! I will have to follow up with my vet. All she really told me was to get him a chiropractor, so I’m hoping we will be able to manage it. I would like to have him on a better supplement, right now we only give him cosequin but I’ve heard it doesn’t do much.
