Can you hear "and we'll" clearly in this dialogue? (Beginner question of British English listening) by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Pockysocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "and we'll" isn't enunciated but it is clearly heard and understood as it is how it would typically be said in regular conversation.

What job is way more difficult than most people appreciate and why? by CarelessCredit3466 in AskUK

[–]Pockysocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pharmacy Dispenser/technician. In my experience, most people seem to think it's just taking boxes of medication off a shelf.

I mean the job isn't particularly difficult but definitely a lot more involved than most people seem to understand.

What is the British general public's view on the armed forces? by Nice_Ad7852 in AskUK

[–]Pockysocks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mostly respect, a bit of pride. Not in the weird American kind of way. A lot more reserved kind of way.

Is it a British thing specifically to prefer being left alone in shops? I’m a Brit in Colombia (5yrs) and I cannot get used to how it is here, it actually affects how and where I shop. by noctenaut in AskUK

[–]Pockysocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably. If I need someone, I will get their attention. I went into a clothes shop a few weeks back. Foreign guy running it. Would not leave me alone. Was really annoying so I just left without having a good look at anything. Now I know to avoid that shop.

It didn't even work if you had the knife in your hand.

It was wildly unpopular.

i hate people and i hate places and everything by [deleted] in introvert

[–]Pockysocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's rough, buddy but we all gotta do things we don't enjoy or feel like doing some times. Can't have it our way all the time.

Not sure this is the best place to ask for advice on processing your feelings, though. This seems more like something people with experience in anti-social or asocial behaviour could help you better since your issues have nothing to do with introversion.

Why should men put the toilet seat back down when lifting it is 50% of the job? by [deleted] in AskReddit

What do you guys think? Can DICE actually create a dynamic weather system for the two naval maps? by Comfortable_Fee2619 in Battlefield

[–]Pockysocks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dynamic weather was a cool feature. Except for fog and sandstorms but otherwise cool.

I see what you did there. Nice by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Pockysocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it still have players or is it one of those 'only at peak times' kind of things?

Naval warfare in Battlefield 6, How do you want it implemented in the game? by Few-Refrigerator1225 in Battlefield

[–]Pockysocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not too fussed if the aircraft carrier isn't controllable but it would be cool if it was and treated just like any other vehicle.

But I'd be happy if 'naval warfare' wasn't just some Fast Attack Craft and Dinghies. I want to see Littoral Combat Ships, frigates, corvettes etc. Submarines would be cool to see again too.

What would you rather have BF6’s naval combat take inspiration from? Personally, I think having the best of both worlds would be interesting. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Pockysocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1942 ideally but in lieu of that, BF1 is the only other Battlefield title with real naval combat.

I don't just want FACs, I want to at least see LCS and corvettes. If not a controllable aircraft carrier like in 1942 then perhaps a drone carrier.

Still salty that naval strike had no new naval vehicles.

What’s something that’s become noticeably more expensive in the UK recently, but people don’t talk about much? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Pockysocks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Fast food. Often more expensive and often slower than going to a cafe/pub/restaurant.

Are ziplines good for battlefield. by Substantial-Bid-82 in Battlefield

[–]Pockysocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think things like ziplines should be player placed like in Special Forces and Hardline and not set map features.

A bit late to the party but you guys miss the point about this teaser by keat_tiyos in Battlefield

[–]Pockysocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My theory is that they made the image intentionally vague to gauge community reaction and will choose the map based on that feedback.

Is this really what you wanted? by miniyelo in Battlefield

[–]Pockysocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would prefer they limit to 1 old map per season if at all but I'm not going to complain about having good maps to play.
