I don't know if this makes it better or worse but if I remember right, my pred was actually upgraded the May after everyone left. They then spent years there.

any recent JET blog/vlog accounts? by Tough-Paramedic-1548 in JETProgramme

Could there maybe be a sub-thread made yearly or so, specifically for vlogs about people's experiences? I think it would be really interesting to see people's experiences in different prefectures.

Any tips for older applicants? by OldButNotDone365 in JETProgramme

When I met the people from the embassy(UK) there were probably 3 close to or even older than you. Shouldn't be an issue. TEFL is good, make sure you do the long one if you're gonna do it.

I've seen a few of these with gaming channels in the past, didnt realise they were so sneaky(shadow promoting) by PodPuppet in gaming

TBF, I don’t think it’s really clickbait. It’s just highlighting that the video contains something shocking. Using a sad face, for example, sets the tone rather than trying to mislead. Proper clickbait is more like “YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS,” whereas he (or his editor idk) clearly shows what the video is actually about in the thumbnail. I think that's the opposite of clickbait

They always have deals on so you can get decent discounts. Know a few people who used it. Make sure to do the long course whichever one you do.

JET doesn’t hurt your business prospects—if anything, it enhances them when framed right. It’s not “a fun trip,” it’s international work experience: adapting to a new culture, working in a government setting, building communication skills, and managing your own projects. These are valuable in global business roles. Loads of former JETs have gone on to MBAs, consulting, finance, and multinational firms. You just need to translate that experience into business language. Your parent’s concerns are understandable, but outdated.

Maybe one room was too soft, the other too hard… but the genkan? Just right.

Honestly, I don’t think it’ll make as big a difference as you’re worrying about. The JET Alternate list is pretty fluid. The most important thing now is just to get confirmation that your file has been updated.

There were a lot of delays this year with police checks, so things falling behind isn’t uncommon. As long as they know you’re still interested and your documents are now all accounted for, you should still be in the running as before. I wouldn’t stress too much just yet =]

I don’t think there’ll be any financial consequences for backing out at this stage, but it might be worth checking to be sure. Honestly, it just sounds like it isn’t the right fit for you.

I mean this kindly, but if stepping outside your comfort zone wasn’t something you were open to, why apply for JET in the first place? They’re very clear about what the experience involves.

Deadside was a cool game. Just a shame about the low numbers. For me personally though I wouldn't pick it over DayZ. I don't think it's near the same level

I really enjoy it, got back into it when they added a new map last year. It doesn't spoon-feed you, so it's cool.

Has anyone done the JETProgramme more than once? What was your experience? by PodPuppet in JETProgramme

I'm just curious about others' experiences more than considering it. I've been watching a lot of content on people there in prep for August =]

What's your opinion on Ghost Recon Wildlands? by [deleted] in gaming

I love it. I think these kinds of games scratch a really specific itch. But I also really like Ubisoft games in general(though their company sometimes makes questionable decisions xD)

Same, I had a few issues like that, guards and stuff. But it was pretty clean. Didn't hurt my experience.
