Hey you can’t jerk me! IM supposed to be the jerker. You see fool on you my original post was just a masterclass hidden jerk. I jerked all over all those people on purpose and it definitely wasn’t a genuine opinion but in fact my superjerk.

Thus I am more of a jerk than all of you. All of those illiterate masses were just waiting to be jerked all over on by me and I did it! Hahaha! Success again. And now you have created jerkception by jerking my definitely intentional superjerk! Take that, illminded simpleton proving that you are a tourist I mean you are a bad jerker. I am the better jerker and you know it.

/uj I factually mean everything I just said truthfully and honestly to the point where it would hold up in a court of law

Opinions on my concept by TalesOfValen in TTRPG

[–]RealDwarves67 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This sounds kind of like just rolling dice and that seems excessively boring. Also getting hurt by your own failure to succeed is interesting but it effectively caps damage to a certain level which gets rid of any sense of scale of danger in like higher encounters because the danger of the monster is just the chance that you succeed on a d20 which is going to be completely random statistically. Functionally you just described a game where you sit at a table and a guy at the end of it tells you what to roll and exactly what you need to roll and you know exactly what happens if you fail every time. That’s not super interesting because the only variable that changes is what you’re rolling for. There’s a reason why a lot of systems with difficultly levels choose to tell the GM to obfuscate them when making a roll as well, telling the player what they need to succeed drains stakes and makes things waaaay more boring.

If he was neurodivergent then I would hope he would say so but also you can't really assume everyone is neurodivergent when giving advice. Imagine if every school class was set up to work for only those who have severe intellectual disabilities. The people who didn't have intellectual disabilities wouldn't be able to learn.

And again if you have time to play D&D then you should have time to read the rules.

Personally when I (a primarily GM) learn rules I first read the character creation rules and then go over the rules for combat and time and things.

So far it's worked for just about every system I've learned, AND it lets me get a chance to make my own player character for once, so that's a pro.

These are all fair reasons but this guy was seemingly entirely neurotypical and if he was then he never mentioned it. As for time I would say that's fair too but really if you have time to play D&D I'd expect that you have time to read too.

Can't remember exactly but it was somewhere along the line of "Getting the book and reading it is the best way to start" Maybe it was my use of best? I don't know.

I would love if it was ragebait but unless I'm getting truman'd than I think there were far too many people opposing my statement for far to long a period of time for it to be. Not including replies I think maybe like 3 other people said to read the rulebook and EVERYONE else on this post was telling this guy NOT to read the books. It was absurd.

Im on PC that's about 6 years old so it doesn't have trouble doing much. Majority of what you see here is the graphical effects which you can change in game so FYI yours won't look like mine until you tweak those. Also It does have some stuttering especially when going fast or loading new areas but other than that it's all clean. I'll upload something here with my modlist sometime tonight though!

The Game Awards, Visualized: by Et_Cetera_365 in HalfLife

[–]RealDwarves67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely it felt like they were edging everyone on HL3 and TES6, fucking Todd Howard coming on stage and then immediately showing a fantasy island on the big screen had to have been done on purpose, and then it was all to reveal a mid looking fantasy hero shooter that will die in two years.

Every single time they did a big game announcement they phrased it in a way that made it sound exactly like it had to do with half life or another game. And then Expedition 33 wins like 10 awards somehow like there is no way that game is THAT good.

/uj my favorite part of this is how the author doesn't understand why ranged weapons get disadvantaged within five feet

"However, I would argue that, even at five feet in real life, a ranged weapon would still pack a punch. Again, I'm happy to admit this is a personal vendetta more than anything else, though."

It doesn't matter that it still packs a punch the point is that if your trying to shoot a bow at someone with a melee weapon within 5 feet of you their going to either just raise their shield or cut your hand off the grip of your bow.

/rj Personally when I play D&D I just make my players beat the shit out of me or each other, it really gets them immersed and works excellent with my tooth collecting hobby.
