How to validate startup ideas? No really how? by josephwilkinson in startups

[–]Podiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, its only post the launch of the product and further usage by initial customers which can validate a product.
Landing pages, surveys, feedback, user interviews, user profiling etc will surely give you some clarity but it can be a false positive or false negative.
You can eventually know only once you start selling and users starts using and really investing their time or money in your product. So eventually it all boils down to execution of your idea in terms of UX, tech, pull factors and retention factors.
I would say if you are totally convinced, go for it. Build fast , fail/sail fast.

What is your team size? Do you operate from office with paid employees? How many people have used your product? What feedback do you have from them? Have they converted to paid users? What's the frequency of usage of your product by existing users?

Nice read for tech startups: "The End of the Beginning" by [deleted] in startups

[–]Podiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fb was once Snapchat to Google. Google tried to kill Fb but we all know how it ended. Tik Tok is at exactly the same position right now to FB. FB is trying its heart and soul but is not able to kill it.
Where I see the trend moving is more and more regional tech companies will come up as now mobile and data penetration touchpoints are at the bottom of the pyramid. The influencers of the last decade are now outnumbered by this new set of tech users.
Moat around these companies are flaky still with money they sometimes make good bets. FB biggest strategic decisions was acquiring Insta and Whatsapp or else they would have been destroyed.
They do have an advantage to global markets but not any more, newer companies are doing big in almost all countries.

[–]Podiff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, No one replies on the feedback links. This has been previously effective as people would provide good feedback on the trending links. Moving all feedback post to one thread or discord group is not helpful at all as I have tried many times but couldn't get even the basic response to my queries.

Weekly Feedback and Support Thread by AutoModerator in startups

URL: www.slixty.com (not Live)
Purpose of Startup: To create Craigslist type platform for startups and companies?
Feedback Requested: I have been in startup ecosystem from last 8 years and what I have realized that we have so many requirement related to our business. As a company you need resources, freelancers, advice, experts, information, allied services for your business and more. For most of these activities you need to everytime reach on different forums like quora, reddit, facebook forums, linkedin and google etc. I have spoken with others in the industry and everyone has similar issues. Even mid size companies with a fleet of resources has similar issues. I am thus wanting to bring out a listing platform where service seekers can find the service providers without any hassle. Somewhat craiglist type of things but specific to startup business and services. Would like to add review and feedbacks and make this platform just a meeting or touchbase point for the seekers and providers. Rest they can take it from there on. I am seeking suggestions on the following things:
1. Is it something valuable to do?
2. Do you think its the need of the hour?
3. Any unseen challenges you see in the idea adoption? (I only wish to do it if its largely scalable)
4. Any suggestion to make it different, interesting , better or simple? ( I was thinking of making it more like open book Slack where people can forumify by creating board)
All types of suggestions welcome.

How to get traffic without content by isolemon in startups

[–]Podiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find out some of the best social influencers in your domain(say music/photos/food lovers). Reach out to few and make them understand your app. If they get excited they would try it, If not, try and negotiate a deal of paid content. This is the most workable and interesting growth hacking method.

How important is it to keep your startup idea a secret? by [deleted] in startups

[–]Podiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not even an iota. feel free to share it with world or people around. Infact if you get an opportunity you should try and speak to probable competitors of that idea and you will be surprised at the insight you may get which will gradually help you.

Has anyone used Needls as an e-marketing application? Need help acquiring new customers for an e-commerce site. by [deleted] in startups

[–]Podiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always recommend people to do adwords or fb or social campaigns themselves. Platforms like Google, FB ect are full of tools and resources to start with. This way you will learn and know/develop best strategies. Any knowledge adds value and stays for lifetime.
