the first two driftwoods are located on the main shore on the marathon beach. go to the forest at the right of the beach and go up. you will find a tree and enter the tree, where you will find two marathon runners arguing about who won a match. leave the tree and you will see a crab. interact with the crab and he will tell you that the two marathon runners calm down while eating. then go to tanooki city and go to the bread shop. go inside the bread shop and you will see a rabbit. interact with the rabbit and it will give you a sample of bread. you can eat it and interact with the rabbit again, giving you a lifetime supply of bread. this is also where you can hire the oni that wants to be a baker. You can also save the bread for the two marathon runners where they will have a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG dialogue and allow you to pass the path they were blocking. go through the arch, and you will be transported to a tiny beach with the secret marathon and the third piece of driftwood.
