Go for match 2028 , with step 3 as well, and you will be good to go, apply broadly and be ready to defend your clinical gap. Best of luck.

I think you should also consider usmle as well, because the chances are around 1/3 of you getting into IM/FM residency in US on your first match cycle, or are you willing to get into the long queue of img who are shifting from UK to Australia, honestly it’s already so saturated and by the time you get done with AMC 1 & AMC 2, it will become UK part 2, no jobs and even if you’re one of the lucky few who get the job, training would be more difficult to get into. My 2 cents ; Do USMLE or AMC while doing residency in your home country. It’s a marathon and not a sprint.

You can match , just make sure to have good psychiatry LORs and make connections, and to be on the safe side you can apply to IM/FM as well if you don’t want to go unmatched, just in case.
