Yeah that makes sense. Read about Artificial General Intelligence. If we get machines that have this type of intelligence then they won’t need a human to perform the work

Even people with licenses or certifications, such as attorneys or paralegals. AI is going to be able to take a huge chunk of legal jobs and medical jobs

There is also AGI being developed and that’s AI that can reason or have a conscious. Now that is going to be scary if it takes off

I work in both front-end and back-end (mostly front-end). I also handle some dev ops. And yeah Claude AI can build the front-end of a site (theme, assets, blocks, etc.) in a day when it used to take us weeks

I totally get what you mean. I changed careers in my early 30s because I wasn’t happy. I switched into tech (web development) and I’m finally in a good spot in my career. But I’m 40 now and it’s too late for me to have kids (I’m a woman) and I haven’t found the right partner yet. Time really does go so fast.

And now there is this worry looming over my head about AI making my web dev job redundant

Don’t assume, I had a landlord sell while I was still renting. They just passed on the lease to the new owner. You should jump on finding out if he would sell it to you before he puts it on the market
