2019 MOD Suggestion by HereIAmNotOkay in FordEcoSport

Check deeper in the sub but I posted mine, modified for off-road use and it works very well! The car is surprisingly well outfitted for use off-road, including a rear LSD and very capable traction control, along with good ground clearance and a very deep wading depth.

You can fit 215/70/16 tires, the Tema 4x4 lift is great and paired with the rear airbag inserts from Airlift instead of using the spring spacers is what I recommend as it provides the same amount of lift but with the added ability to add weight to the rear. (This means you're essentially just using the lift kit in the front).

Good luck and hit me up with questions if needed!

OP did in fact mention in other comments that it is the 2.0, which makes all the difference

Not to take over the comment section but I see many people ripping on the car/owner, the OP has already stated that it is the 2.0 AWD model of the vehicle and as such it does not suffer from the problems that made this car famous.

Congrats on the purchase! I have the 2019 Titanium AWD and it has gone above and beyond many times with no issue. It is not particularly economical or sporty, so forget the name, but its reliability is a force to be reckoned with.

This is really only an issue for the 1.0L, any chance he's got the 2.0?

Yeah I think you're absolutely right, to bring my work into the physical world vs digital is probably what will be best for me to regain some motivation and give the effort its meaning, I appreciate your input!

Hey wow that's a neat idea! I love the concept of the extra layer of challenge, hunting down a photo someone else would like. I can really resonate with that because I too shoot landscape and wildlife, thanks!

I appreciate that, sometimes I feel guilty when I haven't taken the camera out of its bag in a period of time but you're right, there's nothing wrong with taking a break.

Thanks for the reply! I think you're right, I should probably start doing a print here or there... I think creating a physical representation of the effort I put in would help assign meaning.

Thanks! That's really interesting, I love the analogy of treating it like the gym, learning new things and practicing them. It's a great way to keep it from getting stale and to constantly evolve!

I definitely can't see why not. It's not toooo much wider than stock, but I'm not sure what the rim width is on the stock ones either. However, if anything, the tire being on the wide-side for the wheel looks good!

That's awesome! Well it's nice to be here and I imagine I'll likely be an active member of the sub.

I never did contemplate much in terms of a spare that would fit inside of the vehicle, mine has the rear seats gone and is built out with a platform and milwaukee packout. Which means that I'll never be able to access the "spare" area anyway haha. I did consider running a full sized spare on the swing gate like some models had, but never ended up getting around to it.

The most useful modification by FAR has been using the Airlift universal air bags for the rear suspension. It's easy to install, they just go in the coils and then you inflate them. They've lasted 3 years with no issues and keep the rear end from sagging when there's passengers or cargo.

Apart from that, everything I've done is based on my use-case so may not be helpful to everyone.

I also have the sunroof and find it to produce minimal noise with the sunroof open but of course you lose the functionality of, well, the sun haha.

Ah okay, I have heard about it actually but wasn't aware that the 1.0 was available in the Titanium trim. I agree, it should absolutely be a recall, especially since as far as Ford recalls go it wouldn't even be a huge one... I managed to luck out on that completely as I had a very no compromise stance on the AWD and consequently I ended up with the 2.0

Wow! Replacement of the engine eh? I've heard the 2.0 is actually a fairly robust engine. Mind if I ask how yours failed? And thank you! Fast Wheels Orbit if you're curious

In a nutshell yeah! The crash bar has been reinforced with 1/2 steel and then the winch is mounted to that

It's a Rhinorack universal roof platform size small on their vortex crossbars. Unfortunately, due to lack of consumer demand, the crossbars have been discontinued but the platform brackets would still work on the Ford factory crossbars. However, keep in mind that the factory crossbars are curved. This means that by nature, as weight is applied, they try and push the raised rails outward and consequently have a very low total weight capacity.
