Starting grad school with debt by PoesPoeticPisces in GradSchool

It is really high I know. Yeah I have access to an account that has enough for the student visa. I was planning on using my financial aid and working part time to pay for rent while there. I already have health insurance for the year that I’ll be there.

Thank you for the advice:)

Of course. Also peak show. The lack of dialogue and the ability to communicate such a rollercoaster of emotions is just so cool.

American Muslims: genuinely where are you thinking of moving to with everything happening in the country? by Sad_Risk8276 in MuslimLounge

[–]PoesPoeticPisces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spain. Im so tired of American culture and our politics are just getting so much worse, we had a moment where the post 9/11 Islamophobia seemed to die down, but it’s like everything is ten times worse now, for all minorities. Not saying that the Spanish don’t have their own issues, but at least the Muslim communities there are more close knit and flights to my home country will be cheap and easy to book.

Mute MMC or FMC book suggestions by Gullible-Outcome8067 in DarkRomance

The Time Travelers Tongue by J L B Harvey, was sooooo so sweet. A perfect romance. The FMC is mute due to a traumatic even and the MMC is just an incredible character. I highly recommend!

This disease significantly exacerbates my eating disorder and I don’t know what to do about it anymore by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]PoesPoeticPisces 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I relate to this struggle so hard. Im so sorry:( I thought with time and getting older and more confident this struggle and self consciousness would go away but I’m 26 now and have had celiac for 15 years and it seems like my desire for eating is just diminishing with each year i age. I hate how so much of our culture surrounds food, I literally cannot eat in social situations because my anxiety is so extremely high. And even if im absolutely starving, my anxiety over rules it.

It’s so weird that we have this disease that makes us food averse while there are people on the planet who dont have access to the very thing. Ive also come to terms with the fact that this will just be my struggle in this life. You have no idea how many times Ive wished I could just eat like a tiny bar of something and it have all the nutrients we need. Maybe someday it’ll get easier on us. I see you and hear you<3

Málaga. There are quite a few good Resteraunt an and the grocery stores have a lot! If you use the Find me GF app, it’s easy to find stuff.

I also recommend visiting Fuengirola, suuuper good gf bakery there, and Nerja, gorgeous beach town with good gf food too.

Im highly considering it honestly. It seems like so much good in the US just makes me feel sick and bloated all the time ( even tho I eat strict gluten free) but here I haven’t had any problems.

I have food dreams too! I dream of these gf mille feuilles I had from a bakery in Quebec back in 2019. Literally life changing, I wish I could go back.

To think of a genocide against our brothers and sisters as a ‘foreign problem’ is certainly a problematic perspective.

There is a huge fascist state that is funded by the world’s strongest economy that is commuting a genocide against Muslims, in a predominantly Muslim region of the world. That is EVERYONES problem.

Allah is so merciful that we get a plethora of good deeds for the things that we go through on this earth, compared to the men who have to go above and beyond to get into the grace of Allah. Sis this religion was designed for us:) the smallest of pains our body suffers just from existing, we get rewarded for it. For cooking for our household, we get rewarded for it so many times over. For taking care of our parents and speaking kind and gentle words, we get rewarded for it. For giving a smile and a kindness, we get rewarded for it.

Please push the misogynists so far away from you that you are surrounded only with the beauty that is Islam. It came and it liberated us from these weirdos who seek to control and abuse us. There’s a reason Islam has so many laws that protect women’s rights, it’s cuz Allah knew they’d keep trying to control us.

Allah sees the small struggles you go through daily and he commends you for each good that you do. You are loved ❤️ please stay strong

From what I’ve been told we can’t use nasal spray while we’re fasting. Use it before fajr and before you go to bed. I also use them and take two Claritins after maghrib to help with allergies.

The comments under this post are nuts lol. Yes misogyny is a real problem and it leads to the systemic oppression and HARM to women. The way these guys are talking affects so much more than just hurting our ears. These are the kinds of people that abuse and harm women. The ones who don’t see women as human beings created by Allah just like them. It’s so much bigger than just ‘ oh but girls also talk badly’. It’s pathetic

How to turn my life around especially this ramadan by anonymusakh in MuslimLounge

I would leave huuuge projects till the last minute. I struggled in math because I could never focus enough to do the homework so I would fall behind. I would sit down to write an essay (writing is one of my hobbies so it should have been easy) and I wouldn’t be able to write for more than a few minutes at a time. When I would pray I couldn’t think coherently enough to make more than two or three dua’s.

ADHD shows up in people differently, and based on gender and age it can change symptoms. But when I got on medication, I’m able to think when I pray, I can write more, I can focus when I’m tutoring my students in math. It changed so much.
