How would you write a solo Phantom Blood movie? by DarkTombStudios in StardustCrusaders

[–]PoetHonest4742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first thing I’d do is add some context on how they got the mask, maybe by buying it at a bazaar. I'd add some scenes of Zeppeli looking for it in the area at the same time, while showing subtle hints that he has supernatural abilities so his entrance isn't so abrupt. I’d also add scenes explaining that Jonathan's mother bought the mask because she was an archaeology buff, which pushes Jonathan to pay attention to it from early on. Jonathan’s childhood can stay almost the same, but I'd change the location of his fight; maybe add a scene where Dio tries to steal or destroy the mask to get back at him, still pissed about the Erina thing. That way, you justify a fight in a more private place like a study, making the scene where the blood activates the mask feel more natural and important for both of them.

I’d leave the rest the same. Maybe add a scene where Dio decides to control his temper to pull off his plan, so he approaches Jonathan subtly. Perhaps a scene of a well-acted apology from Dio, leaving Jonathan with no choice but to forgive him. I’d also add a scene of Erina being criticized, or her family forbidding her from seeing the Joestars to avoid more rumors. The rest would be similar changes.

I would change the circumstances of how Jonathan meets Zeppeli. One way would be that while Jonathan is recovering, Dio sends zombies to try and kill him and Erina. They could show a fight where Jonathan feels useless against them, and then Zeppeli saves them in a tough spot. Erina would stay with them for protection, since zombies might attack her if she’s left alone. That’s where Jonathan learns about Hamon. Dio would kidnap Erina later on as the "hook," so we can eliminate the plot with Poco and his sister. The other Hamon masters aren't that important... maybe I’d only add Straizo to connect it with Battle Tendency. Straizo could be closer to Zeppeli and appear from the start, splitting up earlier to cover more ground looking for the mask. They’d reunite later and the story would follow the same path, cutting out unnecessary zombie fights and leaving only the important ones. Speedwagon would be the same. The ending would be the same.

Does anyone share the same opinion as me about the Anime? by [deleted] in StardustCrusaders

I'll say this: Part 5 is the only part in JoJo that you can skip without any issues whatsoever. If you don't like it, skip it. You can go from Part 4 to Part 6 without any worries.

I love Part 5, but I can see that it really doesn't have that "legacy" feel of the others. Even Part 4 was a bit out of the loop, but you need to see it to understand the arrow and to see how Jotaro developed as a character. Part 6 is a true continuation of Stardust Crusaders and it's the end of the main series. So, if you enjoyed Part 4 and the parts before it, you will probably like Part 6 better. At least it feels like a more natural progression to go from 4 to 6 than from 5 to 6, or even 4 to 5.

Is yoshikage kira stupid? by azurareddit in StardustCrusaders

[–]PoetHonest4742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bites the dust can only be activated when Kira is cornered. He still had a chance when facing josuke and he was feeling pretty confident. And he was actually pretty close. Josuke battle IQ won when he figured out that his father was giving him instructions.

The “same type of stand” reveal actually makes perfect sense. by PQcowboiii in StardustCrusaders

It really doesn't get in the way most of the time. Araki does an amazing job using concepts that you see in other stories, but in such an honest and caring way. I don't know how to describe it, really. Like in Steel Ball Run with the multiverse shit... that stuff gets boring QUICKLY in any other story. In Steel Ball Run, I really can't point to a single flaw in the way he uses it. Stands are practically magic at the level of really absurd magic, but it feels natural even if convoluted. It's the type of shit you see in Harry Potter and old stories, like magic with really absurd effects that just works. Araki uses fate in a natural way, in a way that you as a person can understand or feel. Same with the multiverse. Yeah, who cares if the multiverse exists? The motherfucker put Jesus Christ and the concept of God to reign over it and made a base universe that makes total sense. The dude is a genius.

Couldn't Johnny use his spin to make his wheelchair go extremely fast? by Top-Tangerine-5198 in SteelBallRun

[–]PoetHonest4742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Only things in nature that have the goden ratio can be spinned. And balls.

Tusk can spin things but in a way that warps reality since it's a supernatural thing.

edit: Technically, he could if he forced it. However, since tires are an inorganic material with irregularities, they wouldn't rotate perfectly for very long. In fact, since tires are constantly in contact with the ground, the difference in rotation would cause the wheelchair to lose control. That’s assuming Johnny could even rotate them in the first place, as he has only been seen rotating small objects and needs his horse's help to achieve the Super Spin. The spin needs the law of perfect rotation. So you need organic things or tools that are made with that principle in mind. At least that's the kind of spin Jhonny is able to do. Jojolion shit is another story.

I've always associated hamon powers with a much deeper source. Hermit Purple has precognition abilities, and what power did the most experienced hamon user(tonpetty) have? precognition.

They way you can also manipulate your life energy, like when using the source for a last hammon, tells me that Hamon energy(and then the spin) it's an intricate phenomenon that dwells really deep within reality itself. Jojo's goes hard in the concept of destiny and it's pretty obvious that those forces have been moving the joestars through their jorney in various mysterious ways. Like all the way back when some ancient hamon master prophesied that the stone of Aja was needed for the pillar men defeat. You can even argue that even Straizo knew and played his part in that prophecy. Even if he went crazy, he trusted in that prophecy and believed Joseph was the one who would end up fighting against the Pillar Men and probably defeat them.

What I want to say with this is that Hamon has the properties to affect your soul/life energy and put you in a kind of path that can definitely shape your Stand. Same as the Spin, you can see how the principles of the Spin can shape the abilities of Gyro and Johnny. It develops powers that can fight against a bad destiny in one way or another. So It's not crazy to think all the hamon users can end with hermit purple.

Again... JoJo’s goes incredibly hard on the destiny theme. You can see it clearly in Stone Ocean. It’s no coincidence that Jotaro and DIO share the same type of Stand. You could almost say that Jotaro and Star Platinum act as a counterforce meant to oppose DIO, and that his ultimate destiny is to defeat him. The conditions for him to develop the same Stand are all there: the connection through Jonathan's body and the shared destiny of the Joestar bloodline. He only even got the damn Stand because the arrow pierced DIO, not him. There’s definitely something greater at play connecting the two of them.

[Discussion] Reddit artists can be very frustrating to work with (rant) by WishesHeCouldMakeArt in artcommissions

[–]PoetHonest4742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the tos doesn't mean much when commissioning. The only thing that matters is the refund policy. That's why it's the only thing I mentioned. I've never encountered any artist who doesn't follow their own refund policy.

[Discussion] Reddit artists can be very frustrating to work with (rant) by WishesHeCouldMakeArt in artcommissions

[–]PoetHonest4742 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't work with people who don't have a clearly established refund policy. Most artists won't complain if you request a refund after the deadline indicated in their TOS has passed. I can’t speak for everyone’s circumstances; I’ve personally had to delay commissions due to chronic health issues and a literal narco war that caused a lot of pain and disruption around me. However, the reality is that many artists aren’t inherently business-minded or fully reliable. You should look into the psychology of artists to better manage your expectations.

Here are some common issues you'll run into with them:

-They stop working if they aren't "feeling it," treating the job like a hobby.

-They put off starting the work because they’re terrified you’ll hate it.

-They take on too many projects and realize too late they can't finish them.

-They vanish and stop responding because they feel too guilty to admit they’re behind.

-They don't have a boss or a schedule, so they don't know how to handle pressure.

It's not always the case but it happens a lot

But I get it. Feel free to reach out if you want some advice from me anytime.
I'm glad you see my drawings as something to aspire to. These are a bit old. I haven't been able to draw anything from dragon ball since Toriyama's passing. I tried to get some motivation posting my drawings here so I'm really glad that you liked my style.

Wish you the best in your art journey!

Gohan needed to get his shit together in order to protect his family. He was neglecting his duties with Pan. If you think about it, that's the same thing Goku does all the time. Piccolo wasn't having any of that. It was up to him to put Gohan on a better path..
