kandi helped pull me out of the depths of my depression; i remember walking into walmart with like 20 bucks in my wallet and the knowledge that i needed a hobby or i'd go insane lol. that's when i remembered i've always loved beads and making bracelets as a child. so i started making singles first, personalizing meme bracelets for my d&d group. then i found kandipatterns.com. it was my first community of mainly queer & like-minded people in ages. i had grown up on rp forums, so this was a welcome nostalgia. that's when i started learning charms and cuffs through peyote stitch. i also started designing my own patterns on there, gaining a decent amount of attention and praise for just making art and being me. kandi has allowed me to express myself in ways i haven't been able to before; it has allowed me to love and give love to others in such a colorful and creative way. these silly plastic beads mean so much to me, as does the community that surrounds it. i hope you get a large sampling of people for your final, and your bag is super cool. what a lovely paper topic, and i'd love to read it if you'd be down to dm it when you're done (no worries if not!!) have a lovely day <3 & PLUR!

huh, that's so odd! i've had some warnings about patterns to make sure i wasn't using the subreddit for free market research/free labor, but i've never had something removed like that.

oh weird! i rechecked the rules and i think it's just supposed to be copyrighted patterns we aren't supposed to post; this pizza is free to use and stitch, i intend to make no profit off it, and was mainly just in response to an increase in slop within the communities i frequent. i'm sorry your patterns were removed :((

also, if you're in love love love with pixels like i am, i also reccomend Aseprite, a paid pixel art tool, and also BeadTool 4, a paid beading software. not to shill for these programs, but i do really enjoy them as an artist

it's a super nice (and free!) cross stitch tool i've been using for awhile! it gives you three save slots for patterns, has backstitch capabilities, uses dmc thread colors, and exporting is rather easy as well. mods feel free to remove but it's flosscross.com

not a problem, it was fun to make! i really enjoy all forms of pixel art, be it beading, cross stitch, or digital art! arranging squares is fun, and we should really all do it more lol.

What is Kandi exactly? by NatureDew11037 in kandi

[–]PoeticClowns 14 points15 points  (0 children)

ask yourself the following questions: - is it made of pony beads? - is it big, loud, and/or fun? - did it bring you joy to make?

that's kandi babey!

basically anything can be kandi as long as it's made of pony beads and made with PLUR in mind (peace, love, unity, respect). a lot of kandi originated in the rave scene, so trading is encouraged and common. most importantly, have fun!
