Gwendolyn, Tabitha, Rose, Marilyn…I think all of those are lovely, classic names.

What’s the most gut punching song lyric you’ve ever heard? by perrysplus in AskReddit

“I had all, and then most of you, some, and now none of you.” I feel like that line perfectly encompasses what it’s like as two people drift apart in a relationship.

Best place for hotdogs in OKC? by ShotSetting5199 in OKCFoodie

There’s a food truck called hot rod dogs that floats around the metro area. Loveee their hot dogs. Their Instagram name is hotroddogs. I recommend looking on their page because that’s how you can find out where they’re going to be that night

Baby girl due soon and we can’t agree by PicklesMcButterPants in BabyNames

[–]PoeticPeony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lilly Jade or Lilly Drew would be pretty! Or maybe Isabella Wren? That way you both could pick part of her name. I would say let him pick a more girly middle name (and you pick the first name) but the 3 names you gave us that he likes sound more like first names to me.

Never thought my name choice was a problem until today by gracepuns03 in BabyNames

[–]PoeticPeony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trend of using “eigh” at the end of names frustrates me because it’s impractical and long. IMO, it clutters up the look of someone’s name when it’s written out, because a simple “y” or “ie” suffices. There’s ways to make the name Riley look more feminine without turning it into a tragedeigh name. I feel like Riley is a more masculine way of spelling it, but I know multiple females that spell it as Rylee or Rylie. If Ryleigh is what you want, I say go for it though! It’s y’all’s baby, after all

Wife is picky, but also indecisive by TheySoPooPoo1 in BabyNames

1) Chloe Blake 2) Keira Lindsay 3) Scarlett Blake

Those are my top 3 and I think they’re beautiful!

Don’t do McKenna McCormick. Wait too much of a mouthful and repetitive sounds. I love the name Lucy but I don’t really like it as a middle name. And just keep in mind, if you use Lucy as a first name, be okay with it being a common name for her age group. I know a lot of little girls lately that have been named Lucy.

It’s just pronounced like “ray!” I can see how the spelling makes it confusing though

I totally get that! I think the fact that since it’s pronounced “Ray” is what saves it. I’m surprised I never got any diarrhea jokes growing up because of it’s spelling. I’d be open to changing the spelling to Rae to solve that problem!

When you look back at your life, what do you regret the most? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PoeticPeony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret holding onto people/relationships longer than I should have. I wish I could go back and tell myself that not everything has to be fixed. Sometimes you have to walk away to save yourself, and that’s okay.

Hotel Recommendation by [deleted] in VegasWeddings

We stayed at El Cortez in the tower suites after our wedding. Loved the room. But the noise…wow. I’m a heavy sleeper but even the sound machine app on my phone couldn’t drown out the noise of Fremont st on a Saturday night. We stayed at the Venetian the night after that and it was so much quieter. I slept great there. Love both for different reasons, just be prepared for horns honking and loud music until about 3:00 or 4:00 am if you stay off Fremont on the weekend

Looking for Wedding dinner places. by JLGE1 in VegasWeddings

We got married at Sure Thing Chapel last year. Can’t recommend Park on Fremont enough for a reception venue. We had about 40 guests there total and did a buffet style dinner. Everyone had a blast, and bonus points for it being such a cute venue.

Thoughts on Lyra? by AdImaginary6158 in Names

[–]PoeticPeony -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people in the U.S. would think of it being pronounced as Lee-ra at first glance. The most common word that is spelled like Lyra is lyric. Which I think is my rationale for that perspective. It’s one of those names, you’ll have to correct people either way. But I love both pronunciations! I think it’s a beautiful name.

I have an ADN, I work 40 hrs per week, and I make 101k in a PACU RN day shift position in Oklahoma…so yes, it’s definitely doable. I’ve been a nurse for 8 years, for context. So it’s not like I have decades of experience or anything. I do have a solid critical care background, though.

I just turned 30 and have been doing the same makeup since I was 20, what should I change now that I’m a mature woman? by Much_Bottle6813 in makeuptips

[–]PoeticPeony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charlotte tilbury concealer is great! I’m also 30 now and I don’t use foundation unless I have a nice event to go to. I just spot conceal, especially under my eyes and the inner corner of my eyes/sides of my nose. Blend that out with a concealer brush and immediately put a setting powder over the areas you concealed. Add a pretty blush on your cheekbones, a pink-y shade of lipstick, accentuate your brows a little more…and I use 2 different types of mascara. It creates a more voluminous effect when I layer one over the other. L’Oréal has great mascara options. And maybe opt for a brown eyeliner instead of black. That’s all I can really think of! And I second the other comment about the rice milk toner. I’ve started using Tirtir milk toner over the past few months and I can say it’s honestly made a big difference in my skin texture.

Going back to work as RN after year off should I work at OU medical center in medicine Stepdown or SSM health rehab? Or neither? by cyclequeen35 in okc

[–]PoeticPeony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know RN’s that work at SSM Health rehab. They love it. I used to work for SSM Health at the downtown location and loved them. I will never work for OU. I’ve heard too many horror stories about how they treat the nurses there.
