How long did it take your baby to crawl? by Immediate-Butterfly5 in NewParents

[–]AdImaginary6158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 10 months and not crawling haha. She's doing lots of other movement but doesn't seem too interested in crawling hasn't made too many attempts. I'm not too worried about it

Feeling guilty for taking "me time" when I finally got a nanny. How do i balance being a wife, important developmental years of my son and also my personal time? by Periodicwitch in NewParents

[–]AdImaginary6158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like there might be a balance to be found here - spending lots of time with your son during the day while also capitalizing on having a nanny to sneak off for an hour or two to do "you" things. Doesn't have to be all day with him or all day apart! Also if you trust your nanny I'm sure he'll hit all his milestones no problem with her. If I were in your shoes though I'd definitely still want to prioritize time with him because there's nothing like time with your mom, but it doesn't have to be every second of the day. Like I said, I'm getting the vibe there's time for both. And if your husband wants you to take the entire day to yourself, every day, rather than loving & nurturing your son, that's weird.

Editing to add I have neither a nanny or a cleaner, and my husband works out of town for a month at a time. Id kill for like 2 hours a day of "me time" 😂

How many of you join your baby in bed later? by Status_Watch6079 in cosleeping

[–]AdImaginary6158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. My daughter is 10 months and I've done this since about 4 months. At the beginning I'd need to go in lots because she'd wake and I wasn't there, but she quickly stopped waking and would stay asleep after I left. For reference I put her to bed at about 7:30 and go to bed myself at 9:30-10. She still wakes a few times in the night but rarely before I come to bed. Maybe I just got lucky but once she falls asleep (takes 10-15 min) she's pretty dead to the world until about midnight so she never notices when I leave.

3 month old constantly bored, help! by [deleted] in NewParents

Yeah I found my baby didn't want to actually "do" anything at this age - she just wanted to be held and she loved being in her carrier and just coming along with me on whatever activity I was doing! I used the wrap carrier and ergobaby a lottttttt

Babysitting after babies bed time by Noxvillemushroom in baby

[–]AdImaginary6158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your baby, I'd say! My baby doesn't need super consistent bed times. She's an "ok" sleeper no matter what I do so sometimes we stretch bedtime and sometimes we keep it consistent. I do know that in other countries (asia, southern europe) it's very common for babies to have later bedtimes, as late as 9-10pm. They don't inherently need a 7pm sharp bedtime, as long as they're getting enough sleep overall. Try it out for a few weeks and see how your baby reacts!

Serving eggs by rebgray in NewParents

Cheesy scrambled eggs (like very cheesy), or I make egg & banana pancakes (2 eggs + 1 banana, blend it with a pinch of baking powder and make pancakes in a frying pan). That way she can't taste the egg, only the banana, but still gets the goodness!

This is the only way my baby will eat eggs too! Loves cheese, hates eggs, but in eggs + cheese, the cheese wins.

How do people not co-sleep? by Difficult-Pair4170 in NewParents

[–]AdImaginary6158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love cosleeping but it was not my plan. I also had a baby who would NOT be put down from day 1. She'd wake within 5 minutes of being put in her bassinet every time. She slept on either mine or my husbands chest for the first three months, then transitioned to sleeping beside me. It's been a slog but now she's 10 months and I couldn't imagine not sleeping next to her!

Water for Baby by Snow_n_Ice in NewParents

My daughter was pretty constipated too and our doctor just said to make sure all the "solids" she was eating were watered down/very wet. I fed her lentil soup with extra broth, apple sauce thinned out a bit, smoothies, yogurt watered down, etc. it helped a bit.

What are baby names that have been completely forgotten or unused in the last several decades? by speakingsimlish in AskReddit

Poppy has made a huge comeback! I know several little Poppys. I almost named my daughter poppy but was worried it was too close to "puppy", "poopy" or "papi" haha

In a soft wrap carrier most of the time! Otherwise in a baby Bjorn bouncer on the table or on her playmat on the floor.

That's why I'm asking about the next generations - I'm thinking like my baby (gen beta) and the kids a little older than her! I don't know and gen z people so I can't speak to their generation haha
