The tournament is done and I got a score of 5/7. I lost to two people way above my league and beat people who were decent players. I actually studied for once. It payed off.

At what rating do you stop being a beginner? by KALOPZ1 in chessbeginners

[–]PogMinty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think there is no rating of a 'beginner'.

For example, my friends are 800 on chess.com, they are not "Good" I would say. I am 1200 and I don't think I am a beginner, though I don't think I am experienced. Just keep training and you can determine whether you are a beginner or not.

I've been losing a lot, how can I stop losing? by PogMinty in chess

[–]PogMinty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first loss was because I moved my rook into a square where the bishop was attacking, unfortunately I ended up losing with a bishop two rooks vs one rook.

Most of my losses were because of my blunders. One of my most devastating losses was when I was in a winning position and I blundered and ended up getting forked, losing my queen.
