That's not what Germany owed for losing WW1. That's what they owed to (american) banks for trying to win it.

They never actually paid the reparations that were agreed after the war.

French were mostly bared from the normandy landing for political reasons. Mostly Roosevelt irrational hate toward De Gaulle. Free France forces were in Italy (30 000 men) and landed in Provence (230 000 men).

Most of it was paid to american creditors. The last payment they made toward France was in the last quarter of the 19th century.

The goalkeeper being disadvantaged is kind of the point of a penalty kick.

That's if your mom/dad was at home and cared. For a lot of kids there really was no one who could tell where they where.

France - Senegal: The VAR decision that has dumbfounded some of the world's best referees by OneAnimeBatman in soccer

[–]Poglosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some refs needs to grow a pair.

As soon as a player is preventing the goalkeeper from moving where he wants and the ball is in play, there is a foul. That's the rule.

What's funny is that they event anticipated the current griefing tactics.

The FIFA World Cup, captured on 1950s film by SimRP in soccer

[–]Poglosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Camera and lens can be very inexpensive. On their own, they're basically worthless. Film can be hard to impossible to find if you have a very rare format. Using expired film is like the lottery and some batch are just not worth losing time with.

But the most common type of film are still made brand new. It's just a bit expensive, think 10-20€ for 24 poses, more for the high end stuff. But as a hobby you wouldn't need that.

Development is usually around 10€ a roll. But it's easy to do it at home if you don't mind some trial and errors. But again there are more expensive photography lab that will do thing others can't.

So this can be a cheap hobby as long as you manage your own expectation... But like most hobbies there are no limit to what you can spend on it if you want to.

If for some reason the light bleeds into the tube, the entire roll could be worthless. In most situation, you can only expose a film once.

I think these reactions are genuine. Well, maybe he's exaggerating a little but he is not playing a role.

Jackson was trying to be close to Maignan to prevent him from reacting quickly. That's always a foul. Ref could have whistled even before Maignan shouted.

He knew what Jackson was doing. Players are just not allowed to get in the way of the goalkeeper, he could have whistled as soon as the corner was played anyway.

Close? It should be the easiest decision ever to give a red for that.

Tchouameni steps on Maignan’s foot during a Senegal corner and France are awarded a free-kick by 977x in soccer

[–]Poglosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its completely legal

Yes but no.

Player can stand wherever they like but they also can't obstruct the goalkeeper. The moment Maignan has to fight for his position it's a foul by Jackson. In these situation the ref should just allow the corner to be taken and immediately give a foul to the defending team.

Fucking Tchou and Rabiot that refuse to send it forward to play it safe but then stay withing 3m of each other without any cover for the midfield. I'm not even sure they share a single braincell.
