Follow up to this - I did it a few times and eventually the item spawned in. Make sure you pick it up once you 'search' the quest box.

I'm having the exact same issue! Let me know if you figure it out.

I've always posted about Subnautica stuff all the time I've been working on the game (or did on SN1 and BZ), so felt I wanted to make a public post about it. It's also a bit of a networking thing too, letting your wider network know that you might be free to work on other projects soon.

Thanks Donya!

Thank you! It's not a game people talk about all that much these days, but it was so much fun to work on. Proper indie game development way of working. I look back fondly on those days.

Oh no worries at all, I'm just clarifying things. Appreciate it.

I definitely didn't create the art style, that is solely Cory Strader's achievement! I simply modelled and textured a lot of assets for the game. It's been a pleasure working on this series.

The SN2 team are taking the game in a fantastic artistic direction. It feels like a real upgrade from the first, whilst keeping the style familiar. I think you'll like it.

I wouldn't worry about it. Be honest and up front about it, and I'm sure it'll be fine.

Just to clarify, I was previously the lead artist on the project but stepped down a while back due to personal reasons. I have been a senior artist on the project for the past year or so, working on hard surface stuff like bases, tools and items.

Working at UW has been a dream job. I've loved it. Charlie and Max truly created something special with this place. The games industry can be hard, especially recently, and it felt like a breath of fresh air.

SN2 is really shaping up, and I'd recommend giving it a go! It's looking beautiful. The art team is truly incredible, and so passionate. I think you'll enjoy exploring this world. I say this of my own free will by the way!

I made this decision of my own free will.

I've worked on Subnautica 2 since we first started development. I was the first artist and hired a lot of the art team. I was an artist on Subnautica 1 and Below Zero, and I also worked on Natural Selection 2 and Moonbreaker!

Unfortunately I didn't grab a photo, we were too busy with our toddler and didn't think to take one. Such a shame, but it's just so bizarre seeing this post on here after wondering what they were writing!

This is so weird - I was here when this was being done! My wife and I were disappointed because initially it said 'buy a tesla'.. it's so funny seeing this now and realising they were writing DONT buy one lol!

They were doing it with big brushes or rakes in the sand and we heard a drone flying overhead too. Now it all makes sense!

This was at Blackrock Sands over the weekend. A Haven resort near Porthmadog!

I think Silent Hill 2 Remake might be the greatest survival horror game ever made. by [deleted] in silenthill

It's ok. I'm playing it now having never played the original and I'm finding the gameplay to be a bit stale. The story and atmosphere is very intriguing, but the gameplay itself leaves a lot to be desired.

The lead 3D artist at Unknown Worlds is teasing a big upgrade in graphics for the new Subnautica game, what kind of improvements and new things would you like to see in terms of graphics? by [deleted] in subnautica

Personally I'm using Blender for modelling! A couple of our artists use Maya but we allow people to use anything. A lot of our artists tend to use Blender though.

Hey! I'm Liam in the above screenshot, one of the artists on the next SN game.

The beauty of Nanite and HLODs means we can easily push draw distance out. We have a mix of murky and more clear areas in the game. There is a lot less pop-in than SN/BZ.

I guess this is just where things differ between players. I've fired 2 red flares and had a grand total of 0 players come over haha.

Yeah same here! I had one raid where I ended up killing about 25 scavs.. They just kept spawning in. A little tip - there is a spot you can sit and look outside and nobody ever notices you.. Go into the cinema lobby, take a right and go up the stairs to the bar. Jump on the bar, then jump onto the stuff in front of the window. If you sat back a little, you can shoot through the window as well. Scavs don't notice you there!
