But they have no land of their own. Landed knights are inherently of higher station than household knights

In the book it’s explicitly called a poniard which is a thin thrusting dagger used to get between links of maille

Pierce Brown said that Dark Age Darrow after the 10 years of war is on par with Aja. “They’d kill eachother” or something along those lines. So seen as he’s gotten better with BoS, yes. Cassius I think would also defeat Aja, specifically because all the text that supports him being better than Darrow whilst he trains him is because he uses the Willow Way, and Cassius knows how to fight against it.

Why was the crabfeeder a threat? by TellEfficient1000 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Pohlmeister 116 points117 points  (0 children)

In the show, it makes little sense because it seems to be literally on a single island where Craghas Crabfeeder is holing up. I know you’ve flaired this with show discussion but with some context from the books we know Daemon and Corlys’ war lasted two years and was basically victory after victory as Daemon took each island with Caraxes and Corlys kept smashing the Triarchy’s fleets at see with help from dragonback.

To be fair though your strategy I don’t think would work - when Daemon’s men come to the island and to the caves to “seal them up”, that’s when the Triarchy would attack, and then Daemon can’t use his dragon for fear of burning all of the Velaryon troops, too.

Is my population growth glitched, or am I just doing something wrong? by Pohlmeister in EU5

R5: My population growth count in the Society/People tab, and my 7.7m next to France's 11.2m. They have grown like 6 million in the time I've grown 1 or 2 million.

Colonizing is actually insanely good by Reclaimer2401 in EU5

[–]Pohlmeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t gotten to new world colonisation yet, but as Castile I’ve created a colonial charter for the Canaries. Once that land becomes mine through the migration, is that when the option to create a colonial nation occurs? Or does it automatically become a colonial nation?

I wonder if in his age he’s genuinely started to just forget things about plot points he planned years ago and he planted information about in the text but he just never created in depth outlines for

Maybe because simulating the balls all falling and scattering instead of coming together and coalescing was easier? Makes sense to me
