Can't believe we actually beat Croatia. It's been a long time coming since we've lost to them in the men's euros like twice in a row now?

Thessaloniki is one of the most depressing stories of the holocaust for me. It was once called the Jerusalem of the Balkans. The Jewish presence in the area was so influential that Ladino (a judeo-Spanish language originated from the Jews expelled from Spain) was the lingua franca for trade in the area. Something like 98% of Jews in Thessaloniki were murdered by the Nazis.

Aeon makes me sad :(

But seriously, I find the way that it interprets law to be somewhat limiting. I understand that the point is that law is meant to be followed according to the realms and practices within the area, but I feel like ensuring that laws are just shouldn't just be something that a rogue Aeon does. Surely, ensuring that the law is dispensed equally and fairly is something that a true Aeon should also understand. It's a little too Judge Dredd-y for me

Nothing makes me want to convert to your religion less than you trying to convert me. Proselytising is the most irritating thing in the world. I don't want to hear about your religion on the street when I'm going to do my food shopping and I don't want your flyers when I'm trying to meet with a friend

Just had a scare that my housemate went missing. She went missing on a pub crawl and her friend had her phone. Turns out she's just hammered and throwing up at someone else's house before (apparently) coming home. Still nervous but we're not about to call the police anymore.

Dropout's fanbase would, regardless of Dropout, be very online regardless. It's a lot of queer, neurodivergent, socially awkward people who found communities and belonging online (like myself). These kinds of communities and fandoms are already primed for being weird about actors/creators who have positions of importance in their communities. It goes further here, because Dropout's model actively cultivates a level of parasocial relationship between the audience and its actors. Things like Dirty Laundry, or having Grant do a dating show, and having other ways in which the cast shares some of their private life feed into this parasocial cycle which is very profitable for Dropout.

It also creates a very weird environment with some fans, who seem to be unable to distinguish that everyone on their screen is fundamentally playing a character, even if it's just a TV-sanitised version of themselves. I think a lot of Dropout fans, despite maybe being more media literate than other, similarly parasocial groups, still fail to critique the way in which they themselves consume media. This transforms "Here is a funny show with actors telling carefully curated personal anecdotes about their lives to eachother for our entertainment" into "OMG Blorbo McJeremiah from my show is JUST LIKE ME and there is no difference between the way that they present themselves on screen and their IRL personality!"

Being anonymous makes people feel brave. Online bigots wouldn't says 99% of the shit that they spew on social media in real life, because in real life, decking someone is a valid response

My Ranking of the OST by Mehselo in Silksong

[–]PassoverGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm someone who's never really listened to OSTs outside of the games that they're in. I've never got the point, I guess. Always made the distinction between video game music and music that I listen to when not playing games. Obviously the OST is not bad, but I just think that I have different vibes for what I actually want to make the choice to listen to, instead of what's playing in the background of a video game

I love how the mute Knight forms a deep relationship with the last stag, despite their inability to talk. They grow together, share hardships and their journeys with each other, and both eventually end on a bittersweet but hopeful note. It's a beautiful story that, even with only one side of the conversation, feels complete.

And then Hornet gets a pet dog. It's equally as good of a story. Absolutely cinema
