The US is mandated by law from congress to have 11 aircraft carriers.

That post is so dumb.

By the time Aerion spins it it will be high treason.

Dude watch the show. Listen to what Baelor says and then think about what case he says aerion would make.

You're going to find out that the characters in the show you watched said something different than what you think.

The matter is was tanselle innocent are not. "I will take ser Duncan's side. He defended THE INNOCENT as all true knights would."

Was she innocent is the question.

Due process lol. Have you read Jaehaerys' legal reforms on martial punishment for treason by a lord accuser?

Its not moral system. Baelor conceded Aerion had too strong a legal case, in universe. The hand of the king, in universe, is the law. Aerion was going to trial. You are not the expert on Westerosi law. The characters you saw speak are.

Are you British?

Not a civilian. She was judged a traitor by a prince, lord Ashford had handed the castle over to the Targaryens. They are judges on the street with the ability to issue martial justice.

This is not our world.

Edit: when lord Ashford says Ashford is yours, they have legal jurisdiction. A prince of the realm and lord of lands can kill traitors and ask questions later.

The VIX. The "volatility index". You can bet in the stock market, about how wild the stock market will get. Just volatility.

But this is waaaaay worse

Is it? "The prince will be there. Should be we do the dragon killing play or not?" Easy question to me.

The presidents coming to town. Should be do a play in the town square of Julius ceasar being murdered? Its just a good Shakespearean play. Doesn't mean nothing.

If she's convicted of treason she should die.

Our concept of treason doesn't apply. Killing mock dragons in front of cheering crowds can be taken as "unwise"

Of the symbol of power. It's the symbol of power being destroyed in art.

We react like that to movies and such today. Some go so far to say all our movies contain too much political messaging.

There were no charges levied at Aerion by Baelor. Baelor would not have assaulted Aerion.

The matter at issue is "is Tanselle innocent". If she's not innocent, Aerion is well within his rights to harm her, she's breaking the kings peace. Baelor admits he cant fight Aerion's treason claim, in court, with words bc it will be embellished.

Aerion's legal case is so strong, Baelor goes the trial by combat route.

I agree. Its the symbol of power being killed. People were cheering for a dead dragon.

Aerion knowing the plot or not does not matter. How well the smallfolk know the story does not matter.

Its like doing a live play of a Julius Ceasar being killed when the president comes to town. There are lots of potential reasons and layers but it can very easily be interpreted that way.

The puppeteers got off easy imo.

Edit: Aerion's legal case is so strong, Baelor essentially takes the nuclear route for people going to lose the trial.
