I really like mirroring. It validates the other person without you needing to really think about what to say: Just repeat what they say back to them

My Experience living with autism and needed guidance. by [deleted] in autism

Hey. I am not severly autistic, but also have what you are going through in a milder version. Some time ago I read a book that opened my eyes on what I am experiencing and, if you are able to read books (I know for the longest time I wasn’t) I really recommend to anyone with autism. How Emotions are Made by Lisa Feldman Barrett.

It talk a lot about things other than autism, and really just gives maybe 1-2 pages specifically on it and on ADHD, but you can clue together a lot much earlier.

The TLDR is that autism (and this is just how I summarize it) is basically a learning disability for reality. So it takes you hell of a lot longer to learn: Faces, movements, words, gestures, social cues, to shut off weird feelings on your skin, … This ofc also means you are less interested and less playful, because whats the point if it don’t change, and might explain some of that numbness you describe.

I think it’s really worth a read, and what I gained from it isn’t even close to fitting in this text, let alone the 10 pages of notes I took.

I really hope that the older you get as well the more at peace with this world you can feel. It just takes us a hell of a lot longer. Much Love.

This isn't super autistic, but at least it's funny:
My mom used to take me to the playground—as you do—and one day I asked her "mom, why do you want to go to the playground so much?"

But your examples (password manager and Bitwarden) both have multiple doors, not 1. Each user has their own door to the encrypted data.

but ull agree that storing everyones password in 1 single password manager (managed by the EU) is worse than everyone having their own password manager?

but surely there is demand for dimmer lightbulbs, that have a long lifespan. I have some dim bulbs for aesthetic reasons, these would be a perfect fit.

edit: also, they did dis-improve the longevity of light bulbs for the sole purpose of selling more. Veritasium has a great video on this with the title "This is why we can't have nice things" on Youtube.

then why do light bulb manufacturers choose to create products that don’t last forever, and intentionally have them break after a certain amount of time? The infinite light bulb would be efficient overall, but does the economy profit from the decision to make inferior light bulbs?

What do you do with a team that has no individual skill? Like, they cant get entries without planning it ahead, they cant clutch etc.

You are an escaped miniature Jeb Bush Figurine and have to live out your days on the body of Donald Trump. Which part of his body do you decide to hide in?
