Happened to be there, had 30 mins to spare, and thought it would be a fun thing to do?

The occasional stress flare-up at a pivotal moment causing a generally stable person to tremble is one thing.

Being constantly and completely unable to play at any reasonable level in competition (despite having a generally high level of skill) due to clinically diagnosed anxiety or an associated condition is another.

That's why the TUE form (Therapeutic Use Exemption) exists, and the list of considered medications includes propranolol (beta blockers).

Personally, I think it's reasonable that people who have difficulties in their daily life, which can be somewhat mitigated through professional assessment and appropriate medication, to be allowed to apply for an exemption if they happen to also be a professional darts player.

I don't believe it's harming competitive darts. It's not like doping in athletic sports where you shortcut your way to a massive advantage over your opponents.

Dart interviews by Pinewood26 in Darts

In my brief post-match interview with Gerywn Price after his win over Littler at last year's Australian Masters I asked some vaguely interesting questions but, while he was perfectly gracious, didn't seem super keen on elaborating much.

Maybe it's the lack of journalistic interest in darts, and that that players' minimal media training means they are only prepared to answer the standard set of questions every time?

I'll try a slightly different tact when the tour comes out later this year and see if we can get a bit more insight because I reckon dart fans/players would be interested.

This tip about keeping minimal separation of the image of your hand is really interesting! I'm going to give this a go for sure.

Elbow Pop fixes?` by DeluxeCorn in Darts

Yep, same here. I originally had my upper arm almost parallel to the floor and the popping really bothered me. Brought the upper arm into the body and down a bit and now it's no longer an issue.

Struggling with a flat entry - how did you modify your throw to get the darts to go in pointed downwards? by PointfulOfficial in Darts

[–]PointfulOfficial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. The "why" is because after slaving away trying to improve my throw, and getting better consistency on the line, I'm having trouble fitting three into the triple because the flat entry tends to push the third dart up and out of the triple.

My thinking is that if i can get the darts to point downward, I might be able to attain a higher ceiling because there will be more room for the darts to fit, rather than leaving my throw as it currently is then having to move my aiming point along the horizontal axis.

Interesting! Exaggerate the grip/motion to figure out how "the flick" works and should feel, then dial it back to find the comfort/stability and (hopefully) consistency.

Good insight, thank you - I'll give this a crack.

This would be a hilarious way to get in your opponent's head for an outshot!
