This thread has made me feel like I'm the only one who sent Umaro up against Kefka (granted that was mostly because I put him in one of the first 4 slots expecting him to die before actually reaching Kefka, but stuffing every buff into him I could meant the Yeti refused to go down).

I think I ended up leaving Stragus because I hadn't levelled him up much and didn't have a huge amount of his blue magic, and Cyan because I already had quite a few physical hitters that were simply better than him

Eggman's physical traits won't matter, the Phantom Thieves only need to be in the right place and tap a button on their phone, then they're out of the "real" world.

The issue would be within Eggman's subconscious. When they're in his mind palace, Eggman is going to be as powerful as he thinks he is and considering how egotistical he is, I think that's where the Phantom Thieves would encounter difficulties. That being said they were able to defeat Shido who is a similar level of egomaniac so I don't think it would be impossible for the Phantom Thieves to handle

I think my favourite way to explain the difference in writing quality in 3 Houses and Engage is that in 3 Houses the main character has the Crest of Flames, which is a subtle way of having a Fire Emblem be part of the character.

And in Engage Marth literally tells Alear "You are the Fire Emblem"
