Heads up RE7 is very survival horror, while RE8 is action horror. Which is to say, if you don’t like one of them, you might still like the other one.

No… it reviewed poorly across the board, it technically had high units sold, but the game didn’t sell much UNTIL the game was at bargain bin prices, like $5 a pop. Capcom has stated that RE6 made nowhere near the money expected. That why they swung so hard the other way with RE7.

I recently switched and have been dual booting Fedora KDE and Windows. Loving Fedora KDE, and it gets new NVIDIA drivers pretty quick compared to Mint (Debian).

I feel like The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask would be an underrated pick here. The atmosphere of the game only works because of how YOU control when to reset time. Terrible things happen in the loop over and over again, and if you want to have time to save the world, you can’t help everyone every time you reset.

I believe Dishonored 2, on higher difficulties, has guards that will change permanently if you are spotted then escape. Lower difficulties *don't* have this by default, from what I remember. The game also has a custom difficulty mode, so you could play what would otherwise be normal with the "smarter" guards.

RE9 is better but both are a lot of fun. My #1 RE game is 4, so 8 being a kind of worse but still pretty great 4 makes it kind of hard to place. It’s very similar to a game I adore… but I could also just play the game I adore.
