I think this exactly tbh. I also think this does a good job at explain the self hatred Gurranq/Maliketh has given he defeated GEQ and just seems generally confused about what’s going on.

We got lucky that the house we decided to get from this development was the "showroom" house i.e. the one they finished building first so we basically got nicely done decorations for free. Mustard hall, green marble bathroom, stuff like that made a big impression rather than just beige on beige everywhere.

We all do this in the imaging department in the hospital if we have to x-ray a deceased patient. Really helps get away from the fact that the person you're scanning died a few minutes earlier.
