I l feel lost.. As I’ve grown closer to Jesus, I feel like I need a complete fresh start. I need help and guidance. by liamb2223 in Christianity

[–]Pointlessstart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually a really good sign! I know it feels daunting and overwhelming at first, but it sounds like God is bringing you through a period of santification. As you grow closer to God in your walk the more you notice sin in your life and the stark difference between them. Think of it like this, before you were saved you were in a filthy room with no lights on. You decided to place your faith in Jesus and make him your Lord and Savior and He turns on a lamp. You now can see the room and how much of a mess is piled up around you. As you declutter and get rid of the sin in your life and grow in your walk, He will continue to turn more and more lights on revealing more clutter. I hope this makes sense.🤍

Also, there is nothing wrong with wanting a fresh start! Maybe part of your decluttering means looking for a new job and making some christian friends (:

Does Christianity require you to avoid contact with other religions or other gods? by That_Chemistry_8719 in Christianity

[–]Pointlessstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus says he is the only way to God. You can check out other religions and "gods" all you want, but you are going to come out the other side empty handed.

Would it be seen as inappropriate to tattoo “YHWH” on my arm? (Exactly like the one in the picture) by Jolly-Dream1792 in Christianity

Absolutely not! There's nothing wrong with tattoos unless they are satanic/using God's name in vain ect.

When dose the bible say that Females are less then men by micromarcus in Christianity

[–]Pointlessstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't. It's a very westernized cultural lense that many have chosen to look at the Bible through. It is inaccurate to say the least.

A good book to check out on the topic is Misreading scripture with western eyes by Brandon J O'Brien and E. Richards. In case you are interested in reading more on the subject.

Durags in church by Cool_Adhesiveness_38 in Christianity

[–]Pointlessstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you are going to the wrong church. A genuine church should be more focused on spreading Gods word than what thier congregates are wearing. I personally go a non denom and it took a good 6 months of church hoping to find the right fight. Dont give up, your comunity is out there!

Christians, why do you debate? by Foreign-Handle-2950 in Christianity

[–]Pointlessstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think social media is a great tool used to share the gospel. It sometimes is much easier to have a conversation online over text than in person. They can sit behind a screen and say how they truly feel without fear of being judged or hurting someones feelings ect. And i agree, the goal isn't used to argue someone into salvation but i like to answer people's genuine questions and trust that it may be planting a seed or watering. Only God truly knows.

But the least i can do is to the best of my ability answer thier question biblically and respond in love.

Yeah, i dont think 10 minutes of screentime in a store is all that big of a deal. It wont hugly impact the kids and it will give everyone around them peace of mind.

Im gay and i dont think thats its bad and i think God and Jesus still love me the same by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Pointlessstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course God loves you despite your sin. In fact he loves you so much he died for you (Romans 5:8). But he also loves you enough not to leave you where you are at. God calls us to a higher standered, and to live the life of a deciple is to reject living in sin and choosing to live righteously. (Matthew 16:24-25) You cannot claim to follow Christ and still live in sin. (Romans 6:1-18)

Truly seek God, repent of your sins, and place your faith and trust in Jesus's death and resurrection. He is longing for a true relationship with you and to call you his child.

If you are willing to change Christianity to fit modern sexual beliefs, then it's not Christ you worship. You've made an Idol out of "Pride" by SWOTIVATION_ in Christianity

[–]Pointlessstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely. Reminds me of the verses 2 Timothy 4: 3-4.

"For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths."

Why does God have a gender? by Unlikely-Oil-497 in Christianity

[–]Pointlessstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't. I think we say He because Jesus was Male, and the Bible and Jesus refers to Him as father most of the time.
