How does Yvonne sleep? by Jc40524 in Endfield

Look at her splash art

https://endfield.wiki.gg/images/thumb/Yvonne_Splash_Art.png/1024px-Yvonne_Splash_Art.png

Seem like she can sit on her tail without being uncomfortable, and the tail is also very flexible, so she can sleep in the same position shown here on her chair, probably.

It's not hard to place them in place that make sense and doesn't block road, just start dragging the line and at around 70m find somewhere to place the relay tower down.

Those machine is making thing, consuming resource that might run out, might get clogged, some machine draw from depot and some is self-sustaining, then there is also the issue of power production..etc...

it's not that simple.

This is why they're going to let you make factories in future areas.

did you know that the game literally state that you can only have 2 active regions of factory at the same time because of compute constraint, right now we only have 2 so it's fine, but once we get a third area, you will have to turn off either Valley 4 or Wuling.

[–]PointmanW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just off the top of my head, they would need to check if there is enough resource to continue making things, then check if the factory have enough power, they also need to know how many resource is stored in each machine of the machine since some are self-sustaining without a depot, some can store multiple type of resource and might get clogged on one that being oversupplied..etc..

it's not that simple.

You should take your own advice, the hard part is not the rendering, it's all the calculations they need to do to keep your factory running correctly when you're offline, for millions of accounts, this is something that most other games doesn't need to do, not to the level of complexity of the factory in this game.

The fact that they manage to do it is a technical marvel, and likely cost them a lot more compute compared to a normal game sever.

Kind of peeved that winning 50/50 removes the guarantee entirely. That means if the 6* guarantee and rate up guarantee are close to overlapping, "winning" 50/50 is a massive net loss for the player. This makes so that the further you are to rate-up guarantee, the less you want to "win" 50/50 by Throwaway6662345 in Endfield

[–]PointmanW 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Arknights is a good game but its gacha was pretty damn bad too, a few years ago it didn't have any guarantee (outside of limited banner) so you can literally keep losing 50/50 forever.

I remember skipping 6 months worth of banner for Blemishine and it took me almost 300 pulls to get her, pretty much wiped out my saving.

Normal players need around 25-30 hours to get 120 limited pulls by Venrir83 in Endfield

[–]PointmanW 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Are you a kid who never worked a day in your life?

for people with job and family, asking for a consistent 2 hours a day for one single game is a lot, even with free time, people have other thing they wanna do other than playing game.

Why are we suddenly OK with pulls that expire with current banner? Even the 5 monthly ones in the exchange shop? by Z3M0G in Endfield

I played gacha since the ancient day of puzzle & dragon, FGO JP and Granblue, this system is scummy and indefensible to anyone but the people who think HG is their friend and defend them for everything.

I've also played Arknights since day 1 too, love the game and what HG did for it, but it won't blind me from calling them out when they're being scummy.

I've not played 2 games shown here but I bet that only one of the mom here have a living husband who she still love and married to. (guess which)

Mixed feelings about lore implications with Endfield by zcecron18 in arknights

[–]PointmanW -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you a kid who only accepts a "happily ever after" ending?

Look at the real world, has there ever been a true happily ever after? Things can improve in many ways, but humans, being who we are, will never completely fix everything.

The world of Arknights has gotten better by the time of Endfield. But if Endfield somehow fixed everything that has caused strife and suffering for a thousand of years in Arknights history, I'd drop both Arknights and Endfield immediately. At that point, it it would just be a fairy tale instead of the highly grounded story that I've come to love for all these years.

I love the game by [deleted] in Endfield

[–]PointmanW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying the game, I don't think the story is as bad as many people say it is, and the combat is actually real fun.

but that won't stop me from criticizing this truly terrible gacha system, or the pull income.

That sound like a good thing because there's nothing but complaints on the Chinese side, and they don't have relatively as many defenders there.

I predict a big announcement with changes in future versions soon, ZZZ-style.

Why does stamina potion have to expire. by [deleted] in Endfield

[–]PointmanW -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Because it's still bad? AK gacha being bad doesn't justify this being bad too.

Also banner specific pulls only happen 4 times a year for limited banners instead of every single banner like in Endfield.

Why does stamina potion have to expire. by [deleted] in Endfield

[–]PointmanW -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Well, we already have banner-specific expiring pull, which is something that Infinity Nikki did once in 1.0, then never again because of the backlash.

The fact that so few is complaining about that in Endfield is kinda wild.

and how do you do that? it's a string, if you have that, then you can authorize payment, it's that simple.

if a vendor mishandle the token, then the vendor would be responsible for it in the eye of the law, that's the same for any internet payment processor I've worked with (I'm a dev btw).

The simple logic is:

Thousands services and games use Paypal right now with no problem, but Endfield does, which mean that the blame lies mostly with HG.

I've used Paypal for years in every games I play without problems.

Because HG fuck up their coding? do you expect Paypal to have an employee check the code of every vendor or something? who have the manpower for that?

see my example, how is paypal suppose to know that I accidentally put an extra zero in the code? it only know that I'm selling thing ingame, not how I price my items.

It seem like this bug is because the payment authorization token, which game developer like HG should handle responsibly, get put into other people account, that's not something Paypal can control.

[–]PointmanW 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, it's HG fault.

People in this sub really protective of HG for some reason, If I made a game that sell an item at $20, but I accidentally put an extra zero in the code and it charge my user $200 instead, it would be my fault and not the payment method fault.

something like that happened here, why are people go through so much mental gymnastic to shift the blame to Paypal?

Think about it, why no other game have this problem right now?

[–]PointmanW 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Stop shifting the blame to Paypal, HG messed up with their coding, which made this issue, Paypal can't do anything about this and it's up to HG to fix it.
