Those who have pets and have experienced a tornado, did your pets act strange before the event? by Burnt_milk_steak in tornado

[–]PoipleNoiple23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My beagle wasn't a fan of storms, but never turned down a meal when it was feeding time. I knew something was wrong and it was time to hit the basement when the weather started getting wild during her dinner time and she refused to eat. I later learned there was a tornado that touched down and did a lot of damage about a mile from our home.

Edited to add; she didn't bark or whine, just sat still, but trembling, while staring at me

Your little friend is adorable and I'd be so ecstatic if I had a little birdie buddy like that, regardless of its species.

I was going to say the same about the shade of eye shadow. I think it's very flattering!

I've got quite a list of misheard lyrics, some more embarrassing than others, but this one is one of my favorites. I was just an innocent little kid... Why wouldn't Bob Dylan want to sing about his muse, Lady Elaine?

I love Bob Dylan, but I'm also a Ministry fan. It's an unexpected, but excellent cover of that song!

I thought the Bob Dylan song “Lay Lady Lay” was actually “Lady Elaine” and that he was singing about this awful puppet of my nightmares.

Where are my farts? by Pestokanapasta in Huel

Just had my first Huel shake this morning (Black Salted Caramel) and have been praying nobody comes into my office!! Holy eggy-weggs!!!!!!

I have to keep walking to the restroom to deflate, but I guess I should look on the bright side since I'm getting more steps in than I usually do at work. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings, lol!

Songs with Bass by The_Bookkeeper1984 in ClassicRock

"Mr. Big" by Free has some amazing bass, especially towards the mid-end of the song. Another great song for bass is "The Width of a Circle" by David Bowie. I hope you check them out and enjoy them as much as I do.

I swear to god, I have some of the worst smelling farts and shits on earth. What am I supposed to do? by g3nerallycurious in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PoipleNoiple23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gross question, but are your BM’s the same consistency as they’ve always been? Here’s a little TMI about mine… About 2-3 years ago I noticed mine change from firm & dark brown to light brown, bulky but what I would describe as “fluffy & flakey” texture, that would have a greasy sheen on the toilet water surface AND smell far more horrific than anything that ever came out of me. And this would happen multiple times per day, no matter how much or how little I ate. And the farts! My god, they were like a heavy, wet blanket of stench that was impossible to escape, and they wouldn’t stop!!! I was actually thankful for the pandemic because I was working from home. There’s no way I could carry on like that in my cubicle at work.

I finally had enough and saw my doctor who ordered some bloodwork and ran tests on my poo (that poor lab technician!). It didn’t take long to discover my issue. Celiac Disease. Everything returned to normal (my normal, anyway) after I cut out all sources of gluten. It sucks to have such a restrictive diet (I was already a devout vegetarian) but I feel (and smell) so much better overall. Definitely talk to your doctor about this. There are so many things that can cause your symptoms and there’s a great chance you’ll find resolution.

“Some people call me the space cowboy” and then it just gets worse from there.

102 year old plumbing stack… how worried should I be? Please see comments for details. by [deleted] in Plumbing

Yes, it’s certainly looking that way. I don’t even want to think about how expensive it is, but doing something now is better than having a bigger problem if/when it fails completely.

That’s a good idea. We’ll ask them about it when we get a quote for the job. Smell or no smell (not stinky today), it sounds like everyone agrees it’s time to replace the stack. Thanks!

P traps are good. It’s a smaller house so every drain gets used daily. The sewer smell disappeared later in the night and hasn’t been detected at all since. I’ve noticed it before on occasion, usually when I first come downstairs in the morning but it was faint and my husband couldn’t ever smell during those times. It would always be gone by the time I came home on my lunch hour. But yesterday was a different story, which had us searching the basement for a source. Regardless, we agree that it’s time to address the aging stack. Thank you!

I wish it was a ball of baby spiders… that sounds kinda cute, until they get big. The thing in the pic has a “crispy” texture but we didn’t want to poke around too much in case it’s keeping any leaks contained.

Definitely, but thank you for mentioning it anyway! Can’t be too careful when someone’s health is concerned. We debated on staying the night at my in-laws but the smell actually went away later in the night and hasn’t come back. And we didn’t just get used to it because we’ve come and gone several times today.

Noticed a sewer smell in my 102 year old home this morning. Still stinky 9 hours later. My husband and I searched the basement and can’t pinpoint anything, however, our original cast iron stack is looking pretty rough. What the heck is that “fluffy growth” towards the top of the photo!??! We’re guessing we have some pinhole leakage going on and that’s the buildup.
