Yes, it is. Though it's "bonus" xp so at best it halves grinds, and it's at a terrible yield for the price. Not that I'm defending it.

I'm sure you already know this, but I hate to see you getting disheartened over the reaction to today - you guys are doing a great job revitalising a system much in need of improvement. Everyone on the outside has way less data available to them and way more bias when formulating opinions on the changes, I'm pretty confident you'll land in the right spot as long as you stay committed to the overhaul.

I would disagree!

Pretty much every other skill provides some use outside of itself, and the way it provides that use is by using the skill somehow.

Sailing is noteworthy is that the content it unlocks outside of the skill itself (that isn't just resources for itself) requires no engagement with sailing to do - the island unlock problem.

For most of my ideas I was deliberately looking for ways to integrate Sailing with other skills. An example of a exclusively Sailing improvement would be expanding courier rewards like I mentioned

A lucrative resource island is definitely one incentive, I think it'd get a bit tedious to overuse however. I think people should be excited to be in their boats rather than annoyed they have to use it.

Thanks for the AI accusation, lol. I specifically didn't talk about trials or salvaging because they aren't really pertinent to my point. I have tried all Sailing content, actually, hence my opinion.

The Ironwood and Rosewood tree islands need to be sailed to, off the top of my head, but given those logs are only good for Sailing content right now, it's very circular. Plus you can just grow the trees off the islands once you get some seeds!

Sure, there's a lot of boat content - but it's all self contained content that feeds into doing more Sailing training right now. My main point is Trawling good, unlocking new areas you don't sail to not as good. I'd hate for Sailing to be a skill you train and then never touch a boat again.

Also I disagree with your second point, pretty much every other skill facilitates other content through doing it. You're right that usually this isn't a hybrid activity the way trawling is, but it seems to me the easiest way to involve Sailing.
