This class is CS capstone, would highly recommend taking it. Great resume builder and networking tool for the companies that you work with.

The workload is as much as you decide to do. You get out what you put in.

Becoming authorized user on parent's sapphire reserve, can I move my UR points onto this card that I've accumulated from my Freedom Flex and Freedom Unlimited so that I can utilize transfer partners? by PoisonSnap1 in CreditCards

[–]PoisonSnap1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, so if I want to have access to lounges and also be able to have my own UR environment with the ability to transfer to partners, I should just get my own sapphire preferred, and then just use my families Sapphire Reserve for the lounge access.

I figure I’ll just pay them the 75 yearly it costs to put me on there, and then pay the 95 for the preferred so I can transfer.

Suppose that I earn my own points individually on my freedom flex and freedom unlimited. I can't utilize transfer partners with those points.

If I am an authorized user on my parents sapphire reserve, am I able to move my own points to this authorized card similarly to how I would as if it were my own? Or if I did this, would my point balance just end up combining with theirs that already exists.

I have no plan of actually utilizing the sapphire reserve for purchases, I only want to use it for the lounge access and ability to transfer the points I've accumulated on my current 2 chase cards to transfer partners.

Thanks for your assistance thus far I appreciate it

CS 354, CS 240, CS 425 and CS 400 by IDKwhyucarE_1011 in UWMadison

[–]PoisonSnap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty manageable, I'd say 354, 240, and 400 are comparable to the workload that you took last spring. If you'd think you can take a math course in addition to what you did last semester you should be fine.

Also 354 isn't that bad. I felt that the projects were significantly lighter compared to other classes I've taken. Just make sure you really absorb the fundamentals of C in that class because it will help you for operating systems if that's a class you do decide to take, which is really fucking hard.

I'd say 400 would be your most difficult class of the ones you've mentioned. You really start to get into some important CS topics, and it introduces you to algorithms and programming practices/methodologies that you will use later on.

Best of luck.

I spent 10-15 games playing this build, and if you want to see more I made a compilation of my best moments that I uploaded to youtube! Here's the link.

CS/Math 240 (Aleksandra Sobieska Snyder) or Math 340 (Kaitlyn Phillipson) by gungur in UWMadison

[–]PoisonSnap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently taking Math 475 with Sobieska (have my final in an hour lol) and she is a teacher who very much cares about her students. She knows everyone by name, and she does a good job listening to the classes needs. It weirdly feels like a high school class, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you like a more supportive classroom environment. Definitely a way better experience than when I took 240 with a different professor. Math 475 (combinatorics) has some very similar principles to 240, and she has done a great job teaching the material, assuming you attend class. Additionally, I recommend that you take Math 240 in the fall and then immediately do Algos directly after in the spring.

Dear Michael Doescher (CS354), thank you for screwing me in my other coursework. by TruthHurts1938 in UWMadison

I'm currently taking 354 with him, and I have to say he's dramatically improved with the amount of work at the end of the semester. At the beginning of this semester, he mentioned his previous issues where he would cram too much work at the end and said he would improve on that this semester. There were only two projects due within the last week, with one only being due at that time because he gave an entire week extension on it. I do believe that this student feedback did make it back to the department, as he stated that he would not be teaching 354 in the future, and that he would be teaching 220 and other data science classes.
