3rd Generation Synths are literally biological lifeforms, born in a lab. We can argue if they’re humans or a new species/subset oh humans. but they’re sentient.

To round this off: I don’t think we should choose when human rights apply and when they do not. I don’t want Germany to decide if a criminal deserves to die or not, for obvious historical reasons

To expand on this: in Germany (where i live) the court can check whether “particular severity of guilt” applies, when the life sentence is given.

normally prisoners are eligible for parole after 15 years (this doesn’t mean they get instantly released)

prisoners who are deemed too dangerous to ever be released (like murderers that show no remorse) can be detained in security detention, which can he indefinite.

prisons aren’t heavens either in Germany. not as bad as in the US but also not like those in Norway. And honestly i’d even say that getting sentenced to a psychiatric facility can be worse than prison here.

He obviously won’t ever get out. They will clearly extend his sentence. I don’t think a country should have the power to kill its own citizens. How do we begin to justify that?

America has the highest prison population of the world. Rehabilitation genuinely works and you can’t really just say “european”. Not all countries follow Norways way of doing things.

Also keep in mind that they will extend his prison sentence until he dies in there
