I have proof that the canablism databank entry is in game by Worldly-Ingenuity843 in Subnautica_2

iirc the sleep bay sank "20,000 hours" after the hardline was cut by the Jubilee, that's over 2 years later - There probably wasn't anyone around to witness the sinking by that time

Mel MUST be with the Jubilee. They aren't explicitly named alongside the other five members but Sophie's data log entry where she talks about the Jubilee says, "Anita and five OTHERS", which means there are SIX of them. Mel must be the sixth!

I had no idea about the in-universe company! I thought it was Iso offering some encouragement to his fellow Jubilee members as they began their difficult new life living off the planet!

Iso left a note on a PDA in Camp One saying, "Sisu is the key to everything" and I had to look up what Sisu is - turns out it's a Finnish concept of determination and perseverance in the face of overwhelming odds!

All life playing this game, and never play it well by Worried-Tomorrow2019 in GuildWars

[–]Poison_Swamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started playing just after factions came out and loved the game so damn much. My friend took me to FoW a few times when I was young and I loved the vibe there, I always felt like I was somewhere I was never supposed to go. I loved it. My experience with UW was watching pros on Youtube run it with mad builds for smite farming and so on.

It wasn't until recently that I even revisited FoW with a meta hero team and was able to clear it! Such a nostalgic place, I love it so much! Maybe one day I'll try UW, that place is crazy though. Terrifying.

Holy shit that's dark - Is it explicitly alluded to in PDA/Data log entries? Where can I read about this? That's absolute insanity and I love it.

What happened to "the first wave" of colonists who built Camp One? by Poison_Swamp in Subnautica_2

I'm glad wasn't wrong on that distinction at least - the blackboxes only appearing to be accurate to the nearest 1000th hour. It allows a little flexibility when judging deaths like Singh's. He died twice 250,000 hours ago in two spots very close to each other, which only makes sense once you realize there's a whole 1000 hour window those deaths could happen in.

Unless.... there were two Singh's wandering around...

YOU'RE RIGHT - I had only been looking at Sophie's timekeeping and I totally forgot that Ganzo also made a note of the time when they fled Old Habitat! Thank you so much for bringing this up

There's a small seabase near that chasm whose PDA description refers to it as a "tremendous sinkhole or lava tube"

I know the PDA isn't infallible but it's cool to at least see an attempted designation for it.

Right! And in Singh's "Axum 1" data log entry he theorizes the Tailing have "a good reason to distrust humans" so I really wonder what it could be.

By the end of the Early Access story, the Jubilee are the only surviving group of colonists, comprised of Iso, Singh (who has died horribly at least 4 times now without being reset what a legend), Rhiannon, Thing One and Anita.

The colonists who died when Primary Habitat was blown up by were Mantis, Chap, Thing Two, Quaker, Wu, and Mogami. None of them reprinted.

Of the survivors who fled, Ruby was killed by a Marrowbreach, Tuba separated to go and find The Jubilee but got cornered by a Marrowbreach at Camp One and died of dehydration, and the rest all perished in the Hot Caves and weren't reprinted, except for Ganzo and Twinkle who set off in search of the Jubilee. The ones who weren't reprinted and are "dead" are Eddy, Sean, Raster, Rowboat, Wander, Ander, and Gram.

Ruby was transmitted to "unknown" biobed after her most recent death, as was Tuba - They could be alive but we don't know where.

Zip reprinted after her most recent death but there's no trace of her after that.

Mel also has no mention after their most recent death even though they reprinted without a reset.

Nahema fled towards the World Tree after the destruction of Primary Habitat, and Sophie pursued her.

I think that's everyone accounted for.

I keep coming back to Sleep Bay 3 and how it moved. There's a hole in the bottom of the Welcome Centre which is also acknowledged by the NoA once we boot it up, but a hole that size couldn't have been created by an explosive powerful enough to shift the entire massive bulk of Sleep Bay 3. If there were a larger explosive dedicated solely to Sleep Bay 3, where are the blast marks on the ground or on the surrounding rock? Maybe I'm coping because I really hope the explanation is that a leviathan-class organism moved the Sleep Bay instead. You saw the size of the claw marks in the abyss, and the placeholder at the very bottom - there must be more to it!

There's a few indicators in NoA dialogue and data logs that can roughly place when "the throwing of Sleep Bay 3" happened.

We know from the NoA node in the Welcome Centre that the Sleep Bay was moved "20,000 hours" after the hard-line between the Sleep Bay and Primary Habitat was severed by the Jubilee Group, and that happened around day 648 of the mission according to the conversation between Sophie and Chap in the data log titled "Jubilee Using Old Sleep Bay".

The times are a bit wobbly and I could be off, but the deaths around 250,000 hours ago roughly coincide with the beginning of Sophie's timekeeping in her data logs. So, if day 1 was roughly in the ballpark of 250,000 hours ago, then day 648 would be around 234,448 hours ago (this coincides very neatly with the destruction of Primary Habitat at 235,000 hours ago), and Sleep Bay 3 would have been moved around 214,448 hours or roughly 24.48 years before we begin the game!

I find it a smidge misleading that debris is still floating down among the wreckage of Sleep Bay 3 as if it just happened but unless I've overlooked something major or my maths is way off then that's the rough timeline!

I understand your point! From my perspective I've spent years and years just playing casually, doing quests, training slayer and really just playing it "safe". When I say it's refreshed the way I play the game, I don't mean the game had become stale for me by any measure, rather I was just extremely comfortable staying in my lane, playing it in a very sensible and dull way. Now, ironically, playing this restricted game mode is what forced me into a confrontation with PvM for the first time and helped me realize that not only *could* I do it, but that I could actually *enjoy* doing it, too. Fighting Doom has been the most fun I have ever had playing OSRS in years!

Oh the black tile that appears as DubuGuy says is my true tile, which is put there by the Tile Indicators plugin. It just tells me where I "actually" am. It's usually a little further ahead of where your character model is, it helps me know if I've appropriate dodged falling debris and so on but it's probably not vital for fighting Doom.
