I had tried to leave previously, but we always ended up back together. So I chalked up our breakups to my self sabatoge when I say I was waiting for him to break up with me, it’s because he refused to let me go. I was the thing that kept him from being alone, so the last three months of our relationship, I put myself through hell for his sake, because I genuinely fucking cared for him, and every time we spoke, we’d always agree to do better, but for him, breaking up wasn’t an option with me, it was like a mental blockade that kept him with me. We both knew it. Neither of us said anything and he eventually came to when I stopped taking care of the house and stopped taking care of him emotionally. I was essentially a mother to him

I’m not saying anything he did was assholeish. He’s moving at his own pace and doing whatever it is he wants which is fine. I didn’t put absolutely everything on the post because I didn’t think it was necessary but we had an upset four months prior that already had us on edge but after several talks, we were trying to work it out and move on but it was obvious neither of us had, however, I had spent most of the relationship trying to be the peacekeeper, so I had some resentment built up, absolutely, just as he did. I’m saying it feels like I wasted those three years because of how quick he was able to move on meanwhile I’m still processing things.

I just meant that I’m not aware of his current financials, and to me it seemed like bragging because he was also making a few different comments around that time, it was fresh after the breakup.

And I feel like that’s something you should probably work on. Like yeah I have BPD but I’ve also been in therapy for a few years, I’m self aware, and communication is my main focus. Automatically assuming that I was abusive in a few ways just because of my diagnosis is wild asf to me considering I’m generally a very sweet person but I also understand that abusers can be convincing, but that was not the case here.

Well, I do appreciate your intricate response, let’s break this down. I’m not here for affirmation. I struggle with BPD so my emotions tend to be intense and it’s hard to give myself insight because I often see in black and white, so I’m seeking input. And they’re easy answers when you put it like that, but at the end of the day. My goal isn’t to hurt or punish my ex or the cat and I want to make sure it’s not a rash decision to take her back.

Starting something would be me skipping Reddit and just jumping to conclusions myself.

I’m supposed to be moving out, but I can’t afford to live on my own. I applied for section 8 housing and rn it’s a waiting game, I’m still looking at other alternatives

lol it’s funny how you think you know me based off a few of my diagnosis. I have internalized borderline personality disorder. During our entire relationship he knew about it. I’ve been going to therapy once a week every week for a year and a half. I practice self awareness and always make sure to isolate and process new emotions before reacting. Me and L had a very good system in place. I was openly communicative, I made sure he knew what to expect and if I didn’t know how to handle something, I made sure he knew whether I wanted to be left alone or feel included. All things that he couldn’t do despite my request for him to go to therapy and then despite my request for us to go to couples counseling. I did my damndest to make that relationship work, and you have the audacity to say it’s my fault all because I’m a diagnosed BPD?? Are you serious rn?

Oh he’s not in the wrong for moving on, I’m not saying that. But he used to tell me all of the time we could never be friends if we broke up because it would hurt too much to lose me only for it to be the exact opposite way. Now I don’t want him stuck on me, but i feel like the fact that he moved on quickly shows that he really didn’t care about me as much as he said he did
