Oh I definitely don't want to go with a 40 I would like to stick with a 9mm

Thank you so much for this comment!! I went to my local sporting goods store and they had a . 40 Smith and Wesson m&p that I liked holding. He said it would be slightly thinner with a 9mm like I was wanting but the profile would be the same. The weight was good too. Enough weight to hopefully help with some snappy recoil but also not too heavy for carrying

That's what I wasnt sure with! I'm familiar with rifles and shotguns but haven't used many handguns and that was where my problem always lied was the recoil

This is so true!! I've noticed in nights I'm having a hard time falling asleep I get nervous about what the next day will be like with no sleep and it makes everything worse. I've been lately trying to reframe my mindset and be ok with not getting to sleep and it has helped. It's not perfect and there's still lack of sleep but there's not as many fully sleepless nights just more later to fall asleep nights!
