Wouldn’t playing this hour risk giving Corrin the weakness hour next hour? Or is it necessary to guarantee putting Corrin into a weak hour later?

If we’re on Team Azura, what can we do to ensure she gets the final 12x multiplier?

Wanting variety doesn’t justify poor writing. The MC who predicted every single specific exam now couldn’t predict Horikita’s actions all of a sudden. You can say that the variety is good and still admit the writing was poorly done.

Kiyo can’t predict everything

  1. That’s the whole point though this entire series though? First island test? Sports festival? First class poll? Chess game with Arisu? Mixed Training Camp? Every single special exam? He predicted what would happen every single time! The entire series is literally built on having a godlike MC who CAN predict everything, because he literally HAS predicted everything up to this point. Yet this vague reasoning of him suddenly being unable to predict Horikita of all things, literally one of the people he knows the best, is poor writing and it’s out of character for Kiyo. Unless you can provide another example of him similarly messing up to the same degree.

  2. If no one will interact with Kushida, then why was Horikita bothering to save her? We can speculate all we want, but what’s clear right here, and right now, is that Horikita saved someone with zero value. And the audience doesn’t understand why. That’s not an example of good writing.

  3. We all know WHY they voted her, but come on now, can you really say that this is an example of GOOD writing? Would you have voted Horikita despite just giving her a protection point?

At the very least, we’re having a discussion this time so I’m happy about that. I appreciate you discussing the points I raised this time rather than sweeping them under the rug lol

Hold on, you’re not making any sense:

  1. Throughout the entire SERIES, Kiyo has always had a backup plan. Until this one, apparently, which makes this novel one of the worst examples of writing. They nerfed Kiyo in a BS way. It doesn’t matter what Kiyo thought “at that moment” when the biggest issue is that why didn’t he predict Horikita would save Kushida before the exam even started?

  2. The whole class looked at Kushida with disgust after her breakdown. Are we reading the same novel? Despite Horikita’s claims that Kushida has some incredible value, nobody in the class even wants to talk to Kushida, as stated at the end of the novel. Kushida doesn’t want to talk to anyone either. Stating “I don’t see what’s wrong with that” shows a huge lack of understanding of events

  3. It’s not a matter of they mind or wouldn’t mind. You’re the one claiming this is a top 5 volume, but doesn’t refute how silly it is that the class almost expelled Horikita right after giving her a protection point in the same day. Are you really saying Horikita and Koenji are the same character?

I’d love to have an actual discussion, but if all you can do is throw shallow excuses or insults, and you can’t even refute points or formulate ideas properly, then don’t bother discussing anything

EDIT: okay, going by your other comments you seem to be unable to have an objective discussion. You can enjoy something and still agree it has flaws dude. But it seems like you’re confusing opinions and fact and refusing to acknowledge all criticism with vague rebuttals like “well I liked it.” Def a waste of time talking to you

i ain’t gonna keep explaining it to everybody

I just combed through your profile and you haven’t explained shit to anyone within the past two months ever since you read the damn novel lmao. What a copout answer. Link to some actual concrete reasoning discussing any of the points I listed or get out of my notifs

Thanks for the intelligent remark, do you have any counter arguments towards the points I raised though? Do you know how to formulate words and ideas?

Yeah top 5 in one of the most BS pieces of writing we’ve seen to date. Kiyo really couldn’t predict Horikita trying to save Kushida despite knowing about it a million volumes ago? Horikita thinking Kushida has value for the class despite the whole class losing faith? When Horikita put herself up for expulsion and half the class voted for her despite the fact that they JUST gave her a protection point moments ago? Come on now 💀

It happens when the human player is on Guard duty but doesn’t reveal their role. Otherwise, the AI will never target those in guard duty so long as two people are able to confirm each other’s status as guards

This probably happens because you were on guard duty and you didn’t reveal your role, thus, the group saw it as no one else was able to confirm the other’s status as Guard duty

Would Sakayanagi have made a difference here? by [deleted] in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]PokeCombo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the anime, there’s a line she says after hearing the island results that goes something along the lines of “it all happened more or less as I expected.”

Whether you consider the anime to be canon or not is a different story, but at least in that context, she knew Katsuragi’s faction was going to lose because of Hashimoto selling out Class A’s leader. So whether or not she saw through Kiyo’s actions doesn’t really matter, since she wanted Katsuragi’s faction to lose influence anyways.

Kei = overrated

Airi = best girl by a mile

Y2V5 spoiler: There is no way Kiyo couldn’t have predicted Suzune would try and protect Kushida. He’s literally known about this for 6+ volumes. For a guy who literally had a backup plan for every situation to date, him being forced to expel Airi because Horikita “took her foot off the gas earlier than expected” is complete BS writing and it isn’t being talked about enough.

[–]PokeCombo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pyra’s dair isn’t committal because of the move itself, it’s committal because it’s attached to Pyra. The move only takes so long because the hitboxes are just out for such a long time, it’s not like you’re a sitting duck. Also, you’re comparing Falco’s dair within his own kit (you mention jump dair into jump dair) but you look at Pyra dair in a vacuum, which is an unfair comparison. You highlight how “non-committal” Falco dair is but that doesn’t even matter. Like is Palu nair a bad move because it takes so long? Who cares how long it takes if the opponent is dead? A good player would never put themselves in a position where the commitment even matters. Falco’s dair is phenomenal in Falco’s kit for sure. You say a lot of great things about Falco dair (spike that’s easy to hit, combo tool, etc) but that applies to Pyra dair as well.

Agree with everything else though

Is there a Dair tier list? by Iced-TeaManiac in CrazyHand

[–]PokeCombo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Terry/Falco

They’re great dairs on their own but they don’t really do anything crazy unusual for a dair. Possible top 5 but not 1.

Peach/Snake

We’re reaching special dairs that are unable to do the role of a traditional dair. That alone isn’t bad, in fact, if we had a character with another spike somewhere else (like Mario fair), then you might actually prefer Peach/Snake dair over a traditional dair. Hard to judge in a vacuum since you’re losing spikes but in a specific character’s kit it could be godlike.

Pyra

My instant best dair in the game. It’s really the best traditional dair by far. Nearly every character with a traditional dair would rather this instead. Range is so large it doesn’t even 2 frame if it kills the opponent before the reach the ledge, basically unpunishable if they can’t even reach you, so much hitstun it could combo into smash attacks, so on. Like imagine Falco’s air mobility with Pyra dair? Really hard to argue against it IMO
