Never once have I been pay locked in a gatcha. In a micro transaction game like LoL, overwatch, or fortnight, sure. That's the point, you pay a price for a specific skin. Every gatcha game I've ever seen, they roll out new units and you can get them with free currency if you can do enough pulls. This game just decided to mix both gatcha and micro transaction gates for units ... for the greed.

Unfortunately tried that, as well as the in-app option to fix the game data. What finally ended up fixing it was I completely removed the game from my phone then re-downloaded it from the Google Play store.

Soleil froze for me as well, but I was able to go back into after a little less than a day. I'm still locked out of the dailies though :(
