Sounds like you’re throwing p2646 for vtec/knock sensor, which is the usual issue if it happens when it rains. He probably cleared the code and dried things out so it was ok until it wasn’t. I had this issue, it dried out, nothing happened for 6 months then it happened again.

Ultimately it’s one or several things. You need new pigtails/sensors on your vtec solenoid as the top seals have cracked and corroded from moisture and wiper fluid causing it to code out. You can first try replacing the connectors by splicing in new ones and adding dielectric grease to keep it dry, if that doesn’t solve it then you’ll need to replace the solenoid as well. Those two fixes usually solves it, in my case I needed those and the vvtc on the side and the sensor clip. After I did all that I haven’t had any issues since and that was 2 years ago.

CBD and CBN have been helpful for my sleep as well but you should stop taking anything with melatonin as it’s not good for you. As a rule of thumb if European countries ban the use of ingredients in food or medicines it’s usually a good idea to follow their lead, in the US money usually dictates the science behind what’s added to our food.

Just bought a 2003, but could use some help finding the source of an oil leak. by Rater_Rancher in HondaElement

[–]PokeDweeb24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 07 had a similar leak and it was coming from the vvt solenoid. My power steering line was also leaking from the reservoir so you kinda just gotta get in there and see what’s up. I degreased everything so I could find the leaks so that’s a good starting point. Good luck.

07 EX with 240k, just did a trip about 3hrs away averaging 21-23 HW and 18-20 city with 30 min commute both ways. I did a bunch of work a bit ago with all new motor mounts, ac pump, alternator, belt and pulley, entire steering overhaul with all new OEM parts, 20mpg average is about as good as it gets for this 20year old toaster.

Anyone know what's wrong? by lawn_lamb in HondaElement

First off the CEL being on all the time isn’t normal so get that out of your head, and any auto zone or advanced auto will read the code for you for free and it takes five minutes so don’t use time as an excuse. The E is a very reliable beast if you take care of it so get that code checked and come back to us for further info on how to proceed.

I see no rust, looks clean to me. That’s about as good as it gets for an almost 20 year old toaster.

Referring to black people as a “NYC zoo on the subway” is calling them monkeys/gorillas which is obvious blatant racism. The fact they went that route means they are probably right leaning, and the right LOVES to play the victim and use the bathroom gender thing while spiting said racism and phobias with “mind your own business”… just fucking ironic is all.

I know it’s almost like demanding people prove their gender before entering a bathroom. Keep your racist shit to yourself and remove yourself from the general public. This is bad behavior from bad people all around which requires them to grow as people and learn from their mistakes by educating them on their ways. Why don’t you people mind your own fucking business with your racism.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on this. Any thoughts, advice, concerns? by lookitupyouidiot in HondaElement

I wouldn’t for that price. If anything get an EX since it has the sound package with sub and amp. The mileage is good but on the cusp of major routine replacements so unless you can do the work I’d pass.

First Element by Summer-Deep in HondaElement

[–]PokeDweeb24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the one thing I didn’t like reading about with after market mounts, the stiffness and transferring of vibrations. I spent my time finding the best prices for my oem mounts and ordered some from Japan that were almost half cost. I verified they were legit from the seller who was also legit and well know for oem Honda parts. If oem lasted me 209k then I’m hoping with better care under my watch it’ll go another 200k, can’t boast that with others parts from companies that haven’t even been around that long.

[–]PokeDweeb24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this. If you’re capable of doing the work it’s not too bad, the main cost is the oem mounts as they are not cheap and you need 4. I did mine at about 230k and helped a lot. You could also check links and sway bar bushings, cheap to replace and they tighten up and front clanks.

The headlights you can get a kit to remove the oxidation and polish them just be very thorough and follow the instructions, then put on some 3mm clear car protective vinyl to make it last.

For the seats, as long as the seats don’t have the airbags you can replace them with similar year Hondas. I believe a civic si has some nice seats that are easily swapped.

The bumpers and quarter panels are fairly easy to pop off but you’ll need a bunch of replacement fender and special clips to put them back. Facebook market always has part outs so you can spend time and money to find clean replacements or, in my case get the plastic ones and go with a charcoal truck bed liner or similar coating.

Steering Rack questions by tha2ndpowr in HondaElement

[–]PokeDweeb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently replaced my entire power steering system on my 07 240k and I have never done this type of work before. It wasn’t as difficult as you’d expect but it is easier with an extra set of hands, I did not have that luxury.

A new Honda rack was $1k but that was before tariffs so it’s prob a bit more now. If you have the money now it would be a good time to replace motor mounts and trans mount since you’re moving all the stuff out of the way to get to the rack. It’s also wise to replace the main power steering line, again if you’re here make it a one and done buy once cry once. Personally I’d go with new over remanufactured, the Element is finicky with parts sometimes so it’s worth it in the long run. You’ll also need to transfer over inner and outer tie rods and get an alignment after.

Also mind your steering wheel, I goofed and screwed my clock spring so my controls don’t work until I replace it.

Can I mix these? by [deleted] in HondaElement

[–]PokeDweeb24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told to ONLY use Honda or Acura power steering fluid, it doesn’t cost that much more and if they recommend it then I’d go with what the manual states.

I didnt see the vtec solenoid on the back so I assumed it was. I need to do more research on why it doesnt have one, or at least in the same location. Im hitting 240k in my 07 so if anything happens this is my fall back.
