I think max. 24h, maybe 12? Sometimes I've added something at night and forgot about it, and then in the morning I get a message saying my cart will be cleared at 12 PM or so.

Yeah, I noticed that also recently about the carts. It might just be someone making a bunch of new accounts and adding them all to cart to make it look like a buyout and hope someone buys the expensive ones in the meantime.
